East Side Animal Hospital, Affordable Vet in Toronto

Took our cat to East Side Animal Hospital last Friday for the neutering surgery, the reception is great and Dr Suresh is nice, patient and professional. There's no hidden cost or extra charge, what's been listed online is the source of truth. I'm happy with our first visit.

The Dr and staff were very professional. They also offer a payment plan for those who might not be able to pay for their pets treatment.

We travel quite a bit to take our 2cats to East Side Animal Hospital. All stuff are polite, understanding and kind to animals and people. The clinic is clean and we never had to wait for longer than 10 minutes. Highly recommended!

Took our cat for a blood test so she could get her leukaemia shots done on a later date. We warned the vet that our cat doesn't always like other people but is always fine with us. The vet proceeded to get a muzzle and put it on her that covered her mouth and eyes. At this point our cat started to freak out and the vet took her to a different room. We could hear our cat screaming, crying, and sounds of something banging for a good 5 minutes. When the vet brought her back she was panting, tongue hanging out, covered in feces, and blood. Her neck had blood around it from the vet attempting to draw blood and he told us he might not have gotten enough for the test to work. Her back right paw had blood on it from one of her claws being torn. Extremely dissapointed in how much our cat was harmed during this experience. We managed to clean her off after and obtained no scratches and she didn't squeal. See photos of experience and post clean of our baby doing okay. Hopefully her claw does not get infected and her neck heals. Other reviews praise this place for their cheap prices but the price isn't worth the pain to our cat.

You guys are awesome! I love it here. I just noticed some negative reviews. Don’t listen to them. I just started coming here and have referred people here already. I love how it’s a no frills vet. You know we are all conscious of pricing with vets. They could have charged me a lot of money when I first came in and the doc was honest with me and said just see how it goes over next couple days and said he thought Bodhi, my 8 week old Ragdoll kitten, would be fine. I was so scared about losing my new kitten who wouldn’t eat. And guess what?!! He was right! He could have charged me with $1000 worth of tests as other vets have done and he didn’t. I love how you tell us the price before you start so there’s no surprises. Your prices are totally fair. I have noticed that vets have become unreasonable over the years. I have been to several vets, particularly in the Beaches, where the prices at times have been shull shocking and had no idea it was coming.The ladies at the front desk are so sweet, friendly and helpful. The Doc seems very nice and honest to me. What more can I ask for? Plus, he’s on time! Also, everyone is so efficient with emails, updates and invoices. I’ve never seen a vet practice so organized, timely and covers all details necessary. You never have to ask for anything, they already got it covered. I am so happy to have found you!

Wonderful care provided by both Dr. and staff. I tried a few vets in the city and am now driving out to this clinic from downtown Toronto because I am happy with the reasonable and up front estimates provided and the thoroughness of the care for my two puppies. Would recommend to my friends and family.

Dr.P is an amazing doctor, as well as the staff. Would 100% recommend for others. Everyone is friendly, caring and also its very clean environment. Love the cat they have name poppy, it's the most friendliest cat i ever met.

Very good and fair vet. The negative comments are unfounded as the vet is very thorough and only recommend what is necessary. My kitty needed dental surgery and after calling everyone, this clinic was the most accommodating and the only place that took him in with such short notice. Dr. Suresh Prajapati will now become my cat’s vet.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. I'm absolutely shocked. I'm a first time pet owner and wanted to take my kitten in for a check up and ask questions to make sure I'm doing things right. The receptionist on the phone was helpful and gave me a reasonable quote but once I got there the vet was dismissive and barely acknowledged my kitten and immediately kept trying to sell me test after test. I had many questions and his answers were to basically just to sell me more and more tests without any explanation for why I needed them. I had to repeat my questions several times so I could get even some semblance of an answer and even then he said we need a $200 test for that." He tried to rush us out of the appointment because they were closing early when he started 10-15 minutes late. We found the kitten had ear mites and he just plopped a cone on her head without any guidance on how to make her comfortable or help her with medication (I had to keep asking questions repeatedly.) After a nearly $300 bill I'd expect at least some questions answered. I'm not sure why this man is a vet as he doesn't really seem to care about animals. I walked out of there completely confused and overwhelmed and have to resort to google to figure things out."
