We have only one word to describe the recent renovation Harwood completed on our condo – SPECTACULAR!We felt confident leaving our condo in your safe hands. Any necessary adaptations to the original plan (as can be expected with renos) were communicated to us clearly & in a timely manner.The tradespeople were extremely professional and it was clear to us they went the extra mile – our neighbour commented to us on how nice all of the people who came to work at our condo were.Your team fully understood the vision we had and were able to come through with flying colours.We highly recommend Harwood Design Builders to anyone renovating.

I could not recommend Wayne Sage and the fantastic crew at Harwood Design Builders more.They worked some miracles in our FULL scale renovation/remodel/addition of a 1969 Japanese Mid Century home. We turned it to a modern version of Mid Century with heavy nod to the bones and styling the initial designers meant for the home to be. This project was a big one with A LOT of space added and completely turned around that required a lot of restructuring and design.The quality and the responsiveness to our sometimes overly demanding/regularly changing ideas was professional and appreciated through every step. They were on time and on budget much to our delighted surprise (with our ever changing list of wants/needs). Who could ask for more.You need anything for your home, new or renovation, call them, consult with them, don't pass them by as I assure you, you will not regret it.

In May 2021, after much research, we went to Harwood Design Builders to help us add a large room to the back of our house. We chose Harwood because their reputation is excellent and they give back to their community. Their business model is well conceived and very transparent. We always knew where our money was going and if there were any problems, we were informed in a timely fashion. The pre-build planning was not rushed and we feel that this attention to detail before the build contributed greatly to the success of our project. Despite the difficulties associated with COVID supply and demand backups, we enjoyed the experience. The room was finished in the spring of 2022 and we love it. Our greatest wish was that the addition would not look like an after-thought and Harwood indeed gave us a room that belongs on the house. Bravo!The Harwood team to a man and to a woman is very able and extremely customer friendly. We always felt that our concerns were heard and our wishes were accommodated.The design process was a pleasure and the actual build was just as stressless. At the end of each workday, our house was left neat and clean. Since we continued to live in the house during the work, this practice was extremely important to us.The subcontractors employed by Harwood are just as accomplished as the Harwood team. They were polite and hardworking whenever they were in our home.We thank Harwood for their hard work and willingness to translate our vision into a sunny and welcoming ...love it, love it, love it ... reality.We heartily recommend Harwood Design Builders.

There is some advantage to writing a review 15 months after completion of a project. It allows some introspection on the experience and gives time to settle into the new space before evaluating it.We engaged Harwood Design Builders in the spring of 2017 to develop our basement. Laney Stewart, Harwood’s Interior Designer, took our initial concept and developed it into a very functional and attractive space. She was excellent to work with.Construction began in July 2017. We learned very quickly that Harwood is a very well run company with excellent staff. James Friesen, Project Manager, Lui Tavares, Site Manager who did most of the construction, and Devon Buchholts who made sure all supplies were in place and on time. All were delightful to work with and did an excellent job. The sub-trades were also excellent. A special thanks to Lui Tavares for doing such an outstanding job, and being part of our home for nearly three months.Wayne provided detailed, itemized billing every month so that we knew what was being purchased and how it matched to the original budget. His accounting made us feel very comfortable with the costs and progress.The movie title “Build It and They Will Come” is true. Since the lower level (basement) was completed we have had numerous visitors stay with us and had several family events. All have commented on how beautiful, comfortable and functional the space is.We would highly recommend Wayne Sage and Harwood Builders. They made our construction project a pleasure and delivered on beautiful new space.

We had a positive experience working with Harwood Design Builders. From the first time we contacted them to the end of the project they were professional, punctual, hard working and kept us involved in all aspects of the renovation. Trevor provided us with weekly updates that gave us confidence in how the project was going and what was coming next. The trades that Harwood works with were amazing and have come back to do other projects in the home following our renovation. We would highly recommend Harwood to anyone who needs work done in their home.This project involved a complete renovation of the main floor and second floor. Removing walls, changing location of bathroom, adding an additional bedroom, and much more.

We worked with Harwood on a renovation throughout our older home. The project included large scale work such as wall removal and complete kitchen remodel to small items like adding electrical outlets. Harwood respected the character of our home beginning with design all the way to final clean. We appreciated being able to communicate with the team and looked forward to regular progress updates. We were informed throughout and if any issues arose were presented with various options at different price points and were never pressured into a costly alternative. Very happy we chose Harwood!

Harwood Design Builders completed a home addition and kitchen for us in 2017 and it was a wonderful experience! The finished product was well beyond our expectations and the communication and service were exemplary. Over the past two years, we've had basically no issues. For the few little things that have come up, the Harwood team has been extremely helpful and in my opinion goes above and beyond the standard warranty period to ensure satisfaction. There are many renovation horror stories out there, but this isn't one of them. My wife and I highly recommend Wayne and his Harwood team!

I've been the independently contracted photographer for Harwood Builders for fifteen years now. The Harwood team is made up of the best craftsman and creative designers, as is shown in the beautiful projects that they've produced over the years. But a lot of what makes Harwood so great is in the things you can't see - high quality construction and attention to the smallest of details. When I photograph a Harwood home I only have to level my tripod once, and then proceed with all of the photos - that means that the floors are completely level throughout the home; not something that's common among builders. Wayne is friendly and approachable as I've witnessed in the friendship he has with his clients once a project is finished. I'd highly recommend using Harwood for your remodel or new home build!

Update: It has been four years since we had Harwood complete our whole home renovation in 2017/18, and we still couldn’t be happier with the results. We see the outstanding quality of Harwood’s design and craftsmanship every day, in the way our space works so well (especially now that we’ve had our first child), and in the attention to detail that the team at Harwood brought to every aspect of our home. Our project was unique and complex, converting and updating a 1949 duplex into a modern single family home, while maintaining the mid century character and history of the space. Harwood’s team was simply outstanding, and understood what we were hoping to do from the beginning. Harwood reclaimed and restored existing trim, matched old and new materials seamlessly, and even designed and built custom radiator covers and replicated mid-century archways to ensure that our home felt restored and never just “updated”. Both Harwood’s team and their subcontractors were outstanding. Wayne and the team supported us through every step of the project, and through every issue that came up. Above all, they brought excellent and skilled project management, and our renovation was completed on schedule and with full clarity on budget and next steps all the way through.Harwood is simply the best, and we are so grateful to have had a chance to work with them!

Harwood Design Builders handled an extensive, top to bottom, renovation of our family home in Winnipeg's Wildwood neighborhood. Harwood was on-time and on-budget notwithstanding the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Harwood's staff was professional, competent and timely throughout our project, and created our dream home.
