The Township of McDougall was originally incorporated on May 1, 1872 and was named after William McDougall, one of the Fathers of Confederation.

Hidden gem: a good beach, docks, playground, washrooms, and changing rooms. Note that, unlike what some other reviews say, there is no hiking trail unless you are willing to trespass on private land. As a consequence, it is not as a good beach to take your dog to.

Gorgeous sand beach, gentle slopes into lake, perfect for kids,wonderful scenic views, quiet and peaceful, many picnic tables, bathrooms and change rooms available very close to neach

Great beach for little kids. Shallow water, several play structures, and a couple rafts make it good for kids of all ages. Generally very clean, lots of parking available, and decent washrooms/change rooms.

Free parking, playground and excellent clean beach with cristal clear water and scenic view. There are floating platforms to jump from. The bottom is beautiful to explore. There are picnic tables and change rooms

Great beach in the summer. Perfect place to put in a kayak to paddle around the bay. In the winter its great to park here for walking the dog or walking the shoreline. If the bay freezes its the closest point to walk to Huckleberry Island

Was better before the changerooms were put in. But it is fairly maintained now. Just a lot of teenagers hanging out and it doesn't make for a very peaceful family beach anymore.

It's a great place to be on a hot day with a Sandy beach and change rooms. A few more picnic tables are needed to satisfy the number of locals and tourist visiting at this time of year.
