An amazing channel between Vancouver Island and Mudge Island that has a dangerous current due to the narrow passage between the two islands. Wildlife such as whales, sea lions, and seals can be seen in the waters here using the shortcut through Dodd's Narrows to avoid going around Mudge Island to access Nanaimo.

Love this short hike, to a really cool spot! Lots of sea lions and otters in the narrows! So cool!

Beautiful spot! I have seen pods of Orcas come through and you often find seals playing in the current.A huge mussel bed is accessible at low tide and watching the boats go through during the tide change is entertaining!

Located on the northern tip of Mudge Island, this public park is a great spot relax. On some days you may catch a glimpse of our large marine animal friends, or tug pulling a giant boom of logs. Daily ships small and large transit the rapid waters of Dodd's Narrows.
