My cat is very old and needed to go on a special diet for her digestion. When we arrived we were rudely greeted as if we were a nuisance. The doctor spent a long time telling us about the types of foods they offer, then accused me of not listening to her. Appalled, I left. I will NEVER return here. I'm not sure who these people think they are.

These folks are absolutely fantastic. I brought my dog Buddy here for after surgery care. His surgery was done in Vancouver, however, as I live closer to Port Alberni, needed someone closer to home, especially as he was having complications almost immediately after getting him home.Just stopped by two days after his procedure as his foot was swollen to twice it's normal size, Although they were very busy they still fit me in. Dr. Holly (a gem) immediately took control of his post surgery care, giving me much better and more clear instructions than the original vet. She explained everything in amazing detail, spent more time with him than she probably had to spare for someone that just stopped in without an appointment, and obviously really cared. I've brought Buddy back twice now for further check ups and due to her care, his wound is healing really nicely.Can't say enough good things about them. The front staff are all super, I never feel rushed out, and they are very reasonably priced. I wish I'd had his original surgery done there.Absolutely recommended.

Veterinarian Cindy Smith is the most kind, caring and competent vet we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Cindy greeted our dog Frodo for the first time, on the floor, where Frodo was and instantly made him feel comfortable. Great communication of what was happening and why.Rest of staff at this facility are also very welcoming and pleasant. Couldn't recommend Cindy and the entire Animal Hospital more highly.

Dr Holly and the team at Pacific Rim are exceptional at what they do! Whether the issues are minor or major amongst my cats and dog... I have every confidence in the treatment recommendations and care they all receive. My dog is a lot of work" and particular about who her people are and she LOVES going to see Dr Holly! Can't recommend or say enough great things about them!"

I came to the office today to get my pup checked out as he seemed to be in distress. The receptionist said they could squeeze me in between two appointments. I brought him down, but soon realized soon he appeared to be fine. The vet assistant agreed. I thought about just going home but figured a check-up wouldn't hurt.The doctor took him in and came back out and found nothing. She then proceeded to give me the advice that a raw food diet is very unhealthy for dogs and grain is very important for them. I was grateful to hear her perspective and told her that. They then brought me the bill of nearly $300. I was given no indication they would be charging me for an emergency check up"

Putting a pet down is the most difficult thing and the dignity and respect displayed was truly amazing. There was thoughtfulness shown with the soft lighting, the cozy soft plush covering and a small delicate arrangement of treats as well as the consideration offered of time left to be spent with my precious Thomas. Thank to you such compassionate people.

Knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly, patient, and excellent with dogs of all temperaments! Not afraid to give referrals when an issue needs further investigation. I am very happy with the care my dogs get at Pacific Rim vet!

This place went out or their way to move a client who was doing a check up to get in our dying dog to put her down. She unfortunately passed away in the car heading here. The kind staff at pacific rim vet assisted us when our own vet wouldn’t.

I am beyond grateful for Pacific Rim Vet and the staff. My dog incurred an injury yesturday and they got me in immediately first thing today. The staff were incredible, caring and thorough. The team did an incredible job during the procedure. Dr.Holly spent the time to answer all my questions. The vet techs were so caring and efficient. The receptionist was amazing. A team member even just brought me important meds that were needed to my home town on her vacay. I can not even say enough about how happy I am with my experience today at Pacific Rim Vet.
