Wasn’t a great first experience. To echo some of the other reviews, the service is almost non-existent. Waited almost 15 minutes to have our order taken after being seated when there were only three tables sat (including ours). It wasn’t busy at the time.Due to this, we only had the ramen late night special, which was average tasting and small portioned. For $9.99, you really get what you pay for. I’d hate to see the portion size be the same in the regular priced ramen. The bowl was large and only half full. At the end, we decided to just go up and pay and found all the staff just talking to each other behind the counter. No check-up on how the food was either.The atmosphere was irritating, as this was one of those restaurants that like to pump loud kpop (again, in a Japanese restaurant setting, is just plain unnecessary). It was also dead in the restaurant aside from the two other tables that were sat. Can’t have a conversation over the loud music.If you’re craving Japanese food, I suggest going to Dorinku to at least get your money’s worth, as OP as that place is.

Amazing place with great food and ambience! The staff is very welcoming and attentive. I love their Spicy Miso Ramen and Hot Yuzu Honey Tea. You even get roasted sesame seeds on the side in a cute little mortar and pestle to grind them yourself for the ramen garnish, pretty unique!

Visit: July 2023Got the Tonkatsu black ramen and takoyaki. The ramen wa so a deal for 9.99 and for the price, it was good! The ramen itself is pretty basic though, and I likely wouldn't pay the full price for it, but at the sale price it was good. The takoyaki was good as well. There was some pieces with lots of octopus, but some with small chunks. The atmosphere was pretty nice as well, and the staff was quick and kind

The food was amazing. We started with the calamari and the p-toro which were so tender and flavourful. All of the ingredients in the pressed aburi salmon were a perfect combination. We finished our dinner with the tiramisu and the matcha crème brûlée. A great place for a date night.

Food was good ! I really liked my ramen (black tonkatsu) sushi was as pretty average as far as it goes , service was prompt , the yuzu+Sapporo was excellent ! Would recommend for anyone on Whyte ave who has a ramen craving

This place is super cute! Highly recommend. The crispy nori sushi is a nice new take and who doesn’t love deep fried?! The fried chicken bao was packed full of flavour (and a little heat!) but worth it. The atmosphere there is very quiet, romantic, and perfect for a date!

We only came based on some rave reviews here, particularly regarding some items that they no longer serve. Since we wanted to try these, we were disappointed to be told their menu had changed, so I felt I needed to share some more recent thoughts.Multiple people have sung praises to the sushi tacos, and the cheesy moji curry that I still see photos of here. Some of these images seem to be provided by the business itself. Despite their generous reception, Yutaka has for some reason decided to nix both of these from their menu. Unfortunately, these things set their restaurant apart. Now they're just your next average ramen and sushi joint.Ramen was fine. My better half got the butter miso, and neither of us thought it was especially buttery or rich. I got the black tonkotsu (which is named for the black garlic oil, and isn't actually black), and it was also fine, if maybe too subtly garlic. Fine" doesn't set Yutaka apart for me

Food was exceptional!! I really loved their ramen. I could tell that the noodles was homemade and fresh. They have generous serving so it’s shareable for 2 people. The staff was lovely and super nice! I would definitely come back again to also try out their specialty - cocktails! :) *not in the photos was their pressed ahi tuna sushi which was also delicious!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Loved everything about it! Delicious food (ahi tuna sashimi was perfect), great cocktails (I recommend trying the K-Pop Candy), and super friendly and attentive staff. Really cute decor as well. I'll be back for sure!

The Mojo Style beef rib with curry was phenomenal. The beef fell right off the bone, incredibly tender. I was very surprised to see two beef ribs in it! The ramen was amazing, creamy broth and delicious noodles. Karaage and calamari were both delicious. The owner was friendly, seemed very passionate about his restaurant, and praised his chef multiple times to us. Incredible place, worth every penny.
