Shimano Canada Ltd

Was looking for a $10 part (Y05T98010) for my Canondale Topstone 3 bike. This bike is widely available across Canada. Called every single store in the GTA, and no one had it in stock. When I called Shimano, they didn't have it in stock either and recommended to look for a wrecked bike sold for parts on eBay. This is not what I was expecting to hear from the manufacture.

Part 1, July 2022 - My $130 Shimano Clarus rod snapped while in the downrigger from a aggressive strike. I just paid $118 to ship (with packaging). I will await a response from Shimano, but after reading reviews I think this whole rod warranty and user pays shipping is horrible.This will be my first Shimano product ever returned as they have always lasted. Will be my last Shimano purchased if denied warranty. I dont have time for this.

Top notch service from the Brand that leads the fishing and cycling worldwide. I have been a fan since 1994, haven't had any issues with my rods/reels or bicycle components. Called in...instantly Directed to website....for Stradic reel parts..no assistance offered and promptly hung upAnd once you figure out...the mirad of confusion.....turns out...no stock n no way to order....I guess they think we all work there and know how the site functions!! I bought a Shimano rod with a warranty and always took good care of it. This year I noticed that below one of the guides the resin was starting to delaminate. The Warranty department asked for pictures and then sent me a return form. After spending $45 dollars to ship it back to them they denied my claim. I will never use Shimano again and recommend you do the same.

Chris and Lee are some of the most helpful people I've ever dealt with. These guys are willing to do anything and help any way they can to ensure each Shimano user is happy. This is clearly why I go with Shimano and will only use their products. 11/10 for customer service, outstanding to say the least.Highest praise possible to the customer service at Shimano.

I called about a broken piece on my reel and they didn't hesitate to hook me up with a replacement part free of charge in the mail. I also got to speak to a human being almost immediately… Best customer service I've seen in a long time!

My 10yr old son purchased his first baitcaster late in March. He snapped the tip while we were fishing on day in June. I reached out to the place of purchase and was told that we have to deal directly with Shimano. The warranty guy(Chuck) has been great but the service from shimano is that of a junior kindergarten shipping and receiving department. Excuse after excuse, blaming pandemic issues. I'm have never been so disappointed in a company that I have support for close to 30 years..... I still have no received my replacement rod that I had to pay 50% or retail for.

I can't believe how brutal a large company like Shimano turns it back on its customer and refuses to warranty their defective products. When my XT Rear Derailler clutch broke after 5 months not even my local bike shop can get the replacement part from Shimano after numerous attempts. They are just as frustrated as I am and apparently I'm no where near the only one. They don't even have an email contact on their web site. Makes me re think why I should buy Shimano in the future.

I recently purchased 2 G Loomis Rods. 1) NRX 872S and 2) GL2 804S both within the last 7 months. I used them for the first time last week in a bass tourney no problem. Yesterday I was fishing the NRX 872 S and I had a 2lb Bass on and the rod snapped broke between the 4th and 5th eye from the top and I lost the bass. Later in the day I was using my GL 804S and I had a 3 lb bass on and it snapped between 5th and 6th eye from the top and I lost the bass again. I tried to take back at place of purchase and they don’t deal with G Loomis (I was told by customer service) G Loomis said they would ship me those rods for $310 plus shipping. Really I just spent over 1400 for these 2 rods which are suppose to have lifetime warranty and you want me to spend another $310!!!! Lifetime warranty is just lip service with no meaning. They don’t back their products Never again. Don't waste your money or time with Shamino (G Loomis) I had to give them 1 star unfortunately (wish I could post with no stars)
