Wingham & District Hospital

Five starts for the staff. Both my parents spent their final days here and the staff were wonderful! My dad was in for a couple months and the staff really were very kind to my Mum while she was there with my Dad. Thanks again for being really good people!

A week ago I had shortness of breath. I was seen immediately. The nurses and doctors on duty made me comfortable and answered my questions calmly and with professional grace. It was recommended that I stay in emergency and wait until the morning to get an ultrasound which revealed an enlarged heart. I was admitted and spent the next three days being treated by numerous medical professionals, nurses, orderlies, doctors, cleaning staff and catering staff. They ALL did their jobs with professionalism and pride. I am grateful for their care and attention. Thank you to all !

Thee most lazy rude staff I have ever met in my life. Heaven forbid you are covid positive. Wingham staff has proven they have no skills or brains for that. The Emerge clinic is a joke you are unable to use the bathrooms because the staff doesnt want to sanitize. Those emergency buttons forget it they ignors them till they feel like coming and seeing what's going on. As well as if you are from a different town the old hag in vitals will grill you as to why you are in her county. When it is none of her business. The Doctors are either just out of preschool or they are hiding on the other side of the room cause they are scared of catching somthing. So unprofessional

physio staff is the only good thing about this hospital, they are very friendly and helpful and sent me home with all the knowledge and tools I need to recover. While I was a patient there after back surgery, Vander Klippe never once focused on my back, he focused on my smoking habit trying to get me to quit when I have no interest in doing so. Nurses were fine, charge nurse was extremely rude when I questioned and challenged her on hospital rules, very unprofessional, and suppers consisted of turkey at least 3-4 days a week, usually 3 days in a row. I will die before I am ever a patient there again.

My dad was brought in at the beginning of December 2021 with what turned out to be kidney failure. The doctors and nurses were caring and attentive and took really good care of him. Great job Wingham hospital ! From Kaz

Triaged Efficiently that we were seen by dr within a reasonable amount of time... Nurse was nice enough but seemed to lack a broad medical knowledge past what is necessary for her to know i.e. didnt know half the generic names for basic medications. Now the Doctor was a whole other deal, He came off as inexperienced and rude. Assumptuous and impatient.

We booked two Lab appointments for Upper GI but we left the requisitions in another vehicle which was given for oil change services. We asked the staff to get the test going and by the time I have the requisition images and share the information. Nope....no help.Then we got the images by 1150 am and shared with staff. Now they cancel one appointment which isn't available till October for which we have to see another hospital. What an unprofessional attitude......I gave them one star because there is no minus" options."

Emergency. Rude in the door. Waited for over an hour for triage. Got an x ray in decent time after triage. Waited 2.5 hours with no news until I had to leave. Tried to explain to reception I needed to leave, but she wouldn't acknowledge me standing at her window while she answered 3 calls. I hope I can get my xray results Monday from my doctor.4.5 hours waiting wasn't the worst, but it would've been better if the receptionists had some customer service skills.

The oncology department is the best! So caring and engaged. They really take care of all the details and patient comfort.

Horrrible. Walked in beyond sick. Body aching. Waited over 3 hours in the emerg and still didn’t get taken into a room. Ended up leaving because I couldn’t take freezing and aching anymore in those uncomfortable chairs. If I wanted to feel like that I would have just stayed home.
