Sandman Hotel & Suites Kelowna

I was checked in a room by the pool , it is dirty and smells liked bad and it was suffocating, I called the front desk to discuss the issue and Shreyansh was super patient and offered us an upgrade to the room in the other building. I was surprised to see the difference in both the building. The new building was much better, and had a good view. Tania also helped us in moving and showing us the way to the new room. Over all the staff is very efficient and friendly. But the building needs to be cleaned more.

I was staying in Kelowna for one night for new years, we had the option of staying downtown at a cheaper hotel but figured I’d spend the extra 20 bucks to stay at a nicer place (assuming it was nicer). When entering the room there was a black handprint on the bed sheet (as well as more stains on the sheets) and scuffs all on the side of the wall. As I was only there for one night and not trying to be problematic I did not mention this to the hotel staff, we just slept on the other bed that appeared to have no marks on it. So we paid 159 for one night in a dirty room. From the previous reviews on here people are saying it’s a more budget friendly hotel but there are cheaper hotels in the area.

I want to preface this review that our experience started off quite poorly but was redeemed by the front desk staff ensuring we were looked after. If not for how they handled the unfortunate situation this would have been a 2 star review.My wife, 3 year old son and I stayed here for two nights while in Kelowna for a wedding. I've stayed at other Sandman properties before with good experiences so had no worries when booking as part of the group reservation.Maintenance seems to be lacking at this location, not sure if its a financial reason from lost revenue during the pandemic or just regular operations but each room we were moved to was not without issue.After checking in we went to our room on the backside of the atrium building which we were told had to go up the stairs to get to. This was a bit of a pain traveling with a bunch of luggage, food, toys, etc. and our exhausted son but we made it. As soon as we opened the door we were met with the smell of cigarette smoke. There was peeling wallpaper, a broken floor lamp and other damage to the walls and fixtures.I went to the front desk to inquire about changing to a room that did not smell of smoke. The front desk staff were very apologetic and accommodating. They upgraded us to a view level room in the tower building. First impressions of the tower and room were much better though still noticed a broken mirror on the closet door, both ceiling lights were quite askew and more scuffs and marks. The bigger issue on this room was that the A/C would come on for 5 minutes or so and then an error code would flash on the screen and it would just become a fan.I called the front desk from the room and asked if they had someone who could come and take a look to which they said they were sending someone right away. 20 minutes later and now an hour past my sons bed time I called again and was told a staff member just left to come to the room and take a look. 5 minutes later the front desk called and asked if they could move us to another room on the same floor of the tower and that someone would bring us the new keys.This new room was a 1 bedroom suite with balcony which had functional A/C and plenty of room. For the rest of our stay we enjoyed the property. Having the Denny's attached to the lobby was great for breakfast and the central location was perfect. We never had to drive more than 10 minutes to shopping, sight seeing and the wedding.If you choose to stay at this property I highly recommend booking a tower building room. These rooms are not as central to the pool and other amenities but are not too far and much nicer than the atrium building.

Highly recommend as it is a Nice hotel. Rooms in the tower building are great. Hotel is close to most of the places in town. Friendly and efficient staff members. Special shout out to front desk staff Shreyansh and Tania for their great and courteous service. I'll definitely be coming back and stay here in my next visit.

We stayed in Kelowna for the first time. The pool looks exactly like the pictures, beautiful high vaulted ceilings and a lovely area to spend time with the kids. The rooms have super comfy beds amazing for a good sleep! The location is Central to many amenities. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone travelling through the area. Liam was certainly a resource of information and excellent customer service provider.

Excellent service! Michelle at the front desk were very friendly, positive and pleasant to deal with. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. So far, I and my family have enjoyed our 3 days stay here in the hotel. Definitely will come back again!!

Our room was nice and clean looking. We were in room 685 and while it was very comfortable, there were a few things that needed fixing. The shower curtain needed to be replaced. It was broken at the rings and water got all over the floor. One of the small knives in the kitchen was broken and if not used carefully, it could have hurt someone. The blade was coming through the handle, I threw it out. Also after packing up and making sure we had everything, we found a pair of men's underwear in the inside of the fold out bed in the living room. It wasn't any of ours. But it was in a spot that wasn't easy to see, thus easy to miss. Other then that the room was a bit pricey and if we weren't getting a group rate we wouldn't have been able to afford to stay here. Otherwise the room was great, the bed was great and the service was great!

Amazing experience at the hotel. When we checked in we were welcome with a pleasant smile by Shreyansh which made our day, he was very helpful gentleman. The hotel is accessible from all the important places in town. I’ll highly recommend this hotel as we had a great experience. Rooms are really nice and clean. Thanks again for the awesome stay.

Friendly, helpful and welcoming front desk team as well as the housekeeping staff that we met in the halls. More reasonably priced than many hotels in Kelowna and there are several different room types depending on your preferences. When traveling with the grandkids it's nice to have a room that opens onto the pool but without them it's nice to have a room in the tower with lots of space and quieter. Great central location, close to shopping and lots of restaurants in walking distance.
