Edit to 3 from 5- ordered from here and since I went thr first time, food portion and quality has decline while prices increased. Mostly veggies when you order ginger beef and flavours not there for fried rice.Very good food, not greasy and made fresh to order. Ginger beef is the best menu item I have tried so far - ask for chili oil for it if you want some heat.

(Edit 1May2023 When back for take-out for my wife's birthday) Dragon Chef has the best Chinese take-out in the entire city and at a decent price. People said that Golden Star was the best. Yet, I really was disappointed with Golden Star, but really pleased with the quality and options with Dragon Chef! If you're looking for well-prepared food with a lot more interesting options than the other guys, go to Dragon Chef!We ordered out from Dragon Chef yesterday for our family for the first time. We chose mostly dim sum items from the menu and I was very pleased with the quality of the food. The dim sum was excellent in taste and presentation. I know of no better, though I'm no expert. The entire family agreed, except for my youngest who really doesn't like anything. The only draw back was the price. I thought that the value wasn't as good as other places I've been to in Edmonton. But, I expect higher costs here in GP and want to support local businesses especially at this time and was ok with paying the premium. So overall, great job Dragon Chef!

Just had Dragon Chef for lunch today. It was one of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Everything tasted so fresh and so flavourful. Even though I ate a lot of it, I did not feel bad because the food did not taste like it was over salted. I highly recommend this business and will definitely order again.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. They may have been good in the past but definitely not anymore. Chicken chow mein wasn’t even like actual chow mein. They had soggy lettuce on top, it barely had any flavour or chicken in it.The rice we got wasn’t even fried rice like the menu said it was just plain steamed rice. And the beef and broccoli was not rinsed as the broccoli tasted like chemicals.Definitely would give 0 stars if it was an option.We did order fried rice. And neither of them were fried. The chow mein was basically all noodles, no chicken.And the broccoli could not have been rinsed.Definitely was disappointed to spend that much money and not have it taste like Chinese food at all.Response from the owner:I’m sorry you had a bad experience. We use fresh Chinese Napa cabbage cook with sauce, we don’t use lettuce. I don’t know what you mean actual chow mein, but we cook our style of Chowmein using Chinese ingredients. We do have steam rice but if you order fried rice, then we stir fry each fried rice in our wok. We got our broccoli from superstore this week. We have to cut it ,and rinse it, then boiled it. We will review our procedure and try to improve. We hope you give us a second chance. Have a good day.

One of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten!Food was lukewarm when we got it, deep fried prawns were oil soaked with oil in the bottom of the container!Fried bacon infused rice was so spicy with too many fresh chili peppers in it I couldn’t eat it!Edit to review..Called the restaurant to complain about the food and they argued that the cold food was due to the Skip The Dishes delivery person, even though I told them the food was ordered, payed for and picked up by my son!No apology, no attempt to make things right, all he did was argue with me and told me if I did not like the food to not order there again…I agreed 100%!There were frozen bagged veggies in the rice and snack carrots in the fresh stir fired vegetables…that’s just laziness!No ginger flavour in the ginger beef and no garlic flavour in the dry garlic pork! Horrible!!

Had vegetarian spring rolls, and a large War Wonton Soup with a pot of green tea.The Spring Rolls were very crispy and light! Seasoned perfectly with great texture.The War Wonton has fresh vegetables and the wontons again, were seasoned well.The broth seemed to be lacking something.I might suggest adding some Sherry Wine. It will add an element of sweet to it. But that’s just my opinion.This restaurant would do much better if they incorporated more authentic Chinese cuisine. There are a number of North American style Chinese restaurants in GP, Dragon Chef could take the initiative and expand their menu options. I think people in GP would welcome that!

The food is amazing, but I have tried calling and ordering from this place 3 times this week, as early as 5pm for an order to be picked up at 7:30pm and was told they are to busy and can’t take any orders. The only way to get take out was to order fromSkip the dish. This has been the pattern for the last 3 days that I have tried to get take out. I call, they answer and hang up, I think it’s a mistake so I call again, once again, they hang up, I call a third time, only to be told they are to busy and to order by skip.I really like the food, but I’m done trying to get them to actually take my order. It’s crazy.

After reading Dragon Chef Restaurant reviews I decided to give it a try.I was disappointed the first time around and decided to give a second chance as mistakes do happen. I ordered Beef Black Bean Sauce with vegetable, what I received was shocking. barely few pieces of slice beef with lots of vegetables. When I called back and complained that there was barely any beef I was told and I quote don't say that I personally cooked the dish". I was interested in the beef rather than the vegetables as the menu suggests. I would have ordered a vegetarian dish if I wanted lots of vegetables.I have been eating Chinese food all my life this food is no where close to tasting like Chinese. Beef should be the prime focus as the menu suggests not the vegetables. I was hungry and lost my appetite as the individual who cooked my food was a Chinese Chef.I understand beef is expensive but please charge me more but make sure there is enough beef as the menu suggest. And use some cornstarch to thicken the sauce as this will coat the meat and vegetables.Will not order food ever

I went against my better judgment and despite the horrid google reviews ordered from here. I am so glad I did because this food is chefs kiss perfect. Best dry garlic boneless ive had in GP. Will be ordering again!
