This place caters to people who really love there pets. The pet industry often caters to anyone who wants to buy the product, pets and food they sell to make that possible. This center takes some precautions to feel comfortable about re-homing the pets they have to sell. I would recommend this store to anyone who is cautious when it comes to adopting new pets.They have the most natural salt water aquariums I have ever seen. I have visited this store many times and have asked to purchase fish that where in quarantine. They would never sell contaminated fish. They hold high regards to the trust there clientele has with them. This is a valuable and reputable pet store.

Excellent local pet store and all the staff are very knowledgeable! Recently bought a new aquarium that were very happy with and I’ll continue to only buy fish/aquatic animals from here.

Recently bought a baby bearded dragon from this store.. very happy I brought the family here vs the big box stores. All of the staff were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all of our questions. The owner was working in the store and she was also very nice and knowledgeable. She was very helpful in getting us all the things we needed to get started with any tips on how to prepare for our new pet. Great selection of pets, accessories and food for any animal they had. I see why they are rated so high over 250+ reviews. Do recommend and will be returning!

Ive been coming to this buisness for years! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderfull selection of Salt and fresh water fish, accessories and care products. I personally have had a 100% success rate withall the fish purchased.. which says something as I drive them all the way to my home in Campbell River.If I had one rant, it would be that I drop AT LEAST $100 each time I pop into the store. lol I have a Fish addiction...They also have many amazing reptials, Spiders and amphibians with everything one would need for thier care. Cannot say enough great things about this Local small buisness.

I absolutely love this pet shop. The staff there are super friendly and very knowledgeable with all sorts of exotic animals. We've gotten numerous pets from them, including rats, lizards, and arachnids. I adore every animal we've gotten from them, and have to keep myself from getting more whenever we go in there! It's always a pleasure to talk to staff about our animals and ask for advice for toys, treats, and enclosure upgrades for all of our pets. While there are a few nice pet shops I've been to on the island, Courtenay Pet Center is good for having a bit of a wider range in exotic pet supplies that I can't always get closer to home.

This is a wonderful local pet store. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable in many different kinds of pets. We came in to check about some special order fish. It was nice to chat with the staff about fish and while we were chatting they let us know about some Repashy redrum! Supposedly it's used to really bring out the Reds in fish. Can't wait to try it out!
