From the get-go, it is clear that Josh is a top notch guide. He had all the gear for tackling monster muskie, and the boat was all loaded up and ready to go when we met him at his top-secret launch site on the beautiful Rideau river. Within minutes we were headed to the first spot. After a highly informative crash course by Josh, my friend and I were casting big and heavy muskie lures with confidence. Twenty minutes of watching our technique, and Josh decided to show us how its done. First cast of his demonstration, and he landed a big healthy muskie. He hands me back the rod, and on my first cast, applying Josh's technique, I've landed my first muskie! A couple more hours and we'd caught several more, with a few other species thrown in as well! Unforgettable experience... not to be missed!

I’ve been out with fishing guides all over North America and Josh is by far the best fishing guide that I’ve been out with. He helps to keep me focused and is like having a cheerleader to keep you going all day!Bass, pike, gar and Muskie, he’s been amazing.My personal best Muskie was with him, 46” and thick.I can’t wait to get out with Josh again!

Josh, took us for an intro into fly fishing. He was a great teacher and within an hour had us out in the river fishing and catching fish. Terrific day on the water with Josh. Extremely knowledgeable and, thankfully, very patient with our team of newcomers to fly-fishing. Everyone caught something too which was a bonus.

Josh is a great knowledgeable fisherman. We were on the water for 5 hours targeting muskie. We saw 5 and landed 3 along with two collateral non target species. Josh was great getting us familiar with the gear used, techniques required to maximize chances and his boat was clean and well kept. Josh is well spoken, kind and easy to get along with and I will definitely be using Courage Fly & Guide Co. for my next fishing trip!

I had never fly fished before but Josh was able to teach me the basics in no time flat. We hit a few of his secret spots on the river and with his help I managed to reel in 5 fish on my first outing. What a day we had on the Ottawa river, Josh was able to set me up for success giving me the information and techniques needed to land one of these river monsters.
