Pantages Playhouse Theatre
This historical gem is in so much disrepair because of it's city owned status. It was once a beautiful old theatre has now gone down hill slowly. Now a rental site for small local groups and small touring shows not much goes on here in the dead of winter and during the mid summer months.if you didn't know it there are office spaces that are rented out to other organizations on the second floor

Awesome concert hall/theatre in the heart of downtown. Plenty of parking around but none right at the hall. Very clean.

Nice small venue. Don't let the modern lobby built on one side of the building fool you, this gem started as a vaudeville house. The original theatre is still very much intact.

A beautiful place of Winnipeg history. The fear itself looks as if you step back in time to the days of big stage shows. The architecture is beautiful, and pretty well kept for a old building. The lobby has been modernized but the insides are a step back in time.

It is an old gem of a theatre in theatre district of Winnipeg. We have been in this venue many times to see either my child perform or other performances. It is a beautiful stage that has been updated and restored. The main reception area is a great place to mull around before performances. There is plenty of room to move around. The seating is sufficient enough to enjoy performances. The acoustics are very good. The chairs are the older style with good comfort. Parking is an issue in the area if other venues are being used. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area for food and entertainment. A constant issue for the ladies is the lineup for washrooms. However, very proud to have Pantages Playhouse Theatre in Winnipeg.

Classic venue for performing arts. Could use a little sprucing up but the sound quality is fabulous!

We were there in May for MABBA Provincial Bodybuilding Competition. Beautiful clean venue with great natural lighting in the foyer. Staff were vert helpful with questions about ticket sales and there were no long lines to get into the event! Great Experience all-around! Thank you!

The place is showing its age. It could really use a coat of paint. It's still a beautiful building. Seats seemed to be in good condition and comfortable. There is no bad place to sit in the building, which is great.

A great old theatre. Winnipeg is fortunate to have a few jems like this. Thank heaven we were too poor to destroy all of our heritage in the 70's and replace it with glass and concrete.

The Pantages Playhouse Theater is like a walk in history. It’s gorgeous old building in downtown Winnipeg with interesting architecture and history. As venues go in Winnipeg its decent venue for its size (2,703 according to their website).I think there is a certain majesty in the building itself but being dated it shows its age in peeling paint and well-worn areas. For me the imperfections are offset by the remainder of the splendor which we don’t see in newer building, some may find some areas of the disrepair a bit off putting. The seating is a bit crowded without a great deal of leg room but I found it comfortable enough during the performance. I think with an engaging enough performance past getting into your seats you’re not going to notice it. Mind you don’t trip as most of the entrances and exits to the aisles have a slight lip you’re not likely see in a more modern venue. It’s also a bit light on the amenities I found the washroom tiny for the number of people waiting for it. The bar was probably the best staffed and largest area though it’s a bit crowded in the areas outside the theater. You can’t take your beverages into the theater with you so if you plan to have a beverage best to plan to arrive early. There are several Impark lots that you can park in and some street parking if the Impark prices are too steep (I paid $10.50 for 3 hours) but I was right next to the theater though I was unable to get a receipt as the machine was out of paper. I suspect in most cases as it requires you to enter your license plate number not going to be a significant issue and there is also the option of using a phone app if you have the device and app. Just remember to register first as doing that in the cold by the meter is no fun.
