Étoile des Indes (Star Of India)
I love this restaurant. I've been eating here ever since a friend of mine brought me 6 years ago. Their naan is the best in Montreal and I have tried many others (when ever I'm not the one choosing the restaurant.)They are super friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this place especially for those of us who love Indian food but can't eat spicy food. Their butter chicken is so good too. They were very kind to my 9 months old baby.

This place makes the best butter chicken I have ever had there curries are fantastic the korma was beautiful. And hands down one of the most amazing nans. I have been ordering for over 15 years the delivery driver one day asked how my dad was because he remember me from a previous address. They have been consistently great every time.

We had the chicken liver appetizer and onion baji for starters. Both very tasty. Then beef josh rogan and a lamb curry. Again very flavourful. If you like it hot, then you have to tell them, as the dishes are all very mild. Would totally recommend.

Good ambience, great service and average food.Chapathi here is actually phulka but made like pappad.Gravies were good except that there is no salt and very less spices even we requested it to be more spicy.Stuffed paratha was better than the rest of the dishes but no salt in there too. A place recommended if you are not into spicy food.

I had the lamb curry and naan on the side. Overall I felt the dish was missing flavor, and could have been more spicy. There's better spots out there.

Consistently tasty. I have never been disappointed by this restaurant. The food is flavourful and cooked perfectly without being overly rich or heavy as the food from many other Indian restaurants is. I highly recommend.

Étoile des Indes (Star Of India)
I recently dined at Star of India and I must say that my experience left much to be desired. The dishes I ordered, specifically the butter chicken and corma chicken, were far from satisfactory and resulted in a rather unpleasant aftermath. To begin with, both the butter chicken and corma chicken appeared to be of subpar quality. The flavors were lackluster, lacking the aromatic blend of spices that one would expect from authentic Indian cuisine. The sauces tasted unusually dull and lacked the richness and depth of flavor that are characteristic of these dishes. This alone was disappointing, but unfortunately, it was not the end of my ordeal.Regrettably, the consequences of consuming the food became apparent the next day. I experienced severe discomfort and stomach upset, which led me to believe that the ingredients or preparation methods used might not have met the necessary hygiene standards. It was disheartening to deal with the aftermath of my dining experience in this manner.Furthermore, as I attempted to salvage the leftovers by storing them in the refrigerator overnight, I was confronted with yet another disconcerting surprise. Upon opening the container the following day, I noticed that the remnants of the butter chicken and corma chicken had turned an alarming shade of green. This was a clear indication of the food's deteriorated state, raising concerns about the freshness and quality of the ingredients used.It deeply saddens me to have had such an unfortunate experience at Star of India. As a customer, I expected a certain level of quality and adherence to food safety standards. However, the old and poorly prepared dishes, coupled with the subsequent digestive discomfort and the spoiled state of the leftovers, left a lasting negative impression.I sincerely hope that the management of Star of India takes this feedback constructively, recognizing the need for improvements in their food preparation, ingredient quality, and storage practices. Ensuring the satisfaction and well-being of customers should always be a top priority for any reputable establishment.Based on my experience, I would not recommend dining at Star of India until they address these concerns and make significant improvements to their culinary offerings and overall quality control measures.

The dishes have very less quantity as per the price. And the food is nothing just boiled stuff. Tried first time here, and got very disappointed with their service and they way they behaved. They forced to take order as they had some waiting customers. And took off in the middle of taking order. Taste is just awful. Don’t recommend to go here.
