A & D Child Care Centre and Out of School Care

Love this daycare! All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My son love spending his days at A and D! Grateful to the amazing A and D team for sure!

My daughter has been attending A&D for a year now.They are amazing! All of the staff is highly educated in advanced child care. A lot of them are in school and becoming educators. When I was shopping around for daycares I didn't realize that most daycares only have one educator on site. One person holding a certificate. A&D has about 15 or 20 and every single staff member is highly qualified and has a certificate in advance child care.There's never been a day where my daughter doesn't have a smile on her face. She is very loved for and cared for in their hands.They really take the time with their students to comfort and support them in every way.My daughter can read and write her own name and friend's names on her own. She can also do math equations, she came home telling me 1+3 is 4! among other addition equations. My daughter is only 4 years old and I give all credit to A&D when it comes to her knowledge and education. On top of that they encourage reading and send books home like a library to read every day. I love the learning tree and A&D.This daycare is hands down amazing and worth every penny and I will recommend them to everyone. I will continue to make the commute to Sherwood Park just for this reason and the staff is so incredible.As a parent I feel respected, loved and cared for too. They tell me everything that goes on and are very communicative.Thank you to everyone there who is helped my daughter achieve education goals I did not even think possible for a 4 year old. There's a chance when I enroll her in kindergarten the school might say she's too advanced. That's all thanks to A&D.My favorite part is that they take time with each child individually and learn their language and ways of understanding so that the child can accelerate themselves.Thank you, we love you all!-The Waites Family

We love A & D Childcare! It was a hard decision switching our 2 boys from a small dayhome to a daycare centre, but we could not be happier. We knew right away that we had made the right decision for our family! Our boys are happy and we get photos and updates throughout the day to see what fun activities they are up to. The Director and Assistant Director are so easy to deal with, the teachers are all so kind and my son says chef Dina makes the best food. Thank you A & D for taking such great care of our little ones!

We switched to A&D in January and couldn’t be happier. My daughter is SO excited to go each morning. It’s a very clean and welcoming environment. The staff are really lovely and caring, my daughter ends each day by giving them a big hug.Communication is very open and they are quick to answer any questions or requests you may have. The updates on the app are great. I love seeing all the fun activities and crafts the kids get to do plus they get a ton of outside time!We are extremely happy with the care provided and would definitely recommend.

I am not currently nor have I ever enrolled a child with this centre (for good reason) but wanted to highlight a disgusting/discriminatory telephone interview I experienced with this company while searching for a childcare centre for my then 18 month old son.My son was presenting with a delay related to chewing food (oral motor processing delay) and when I asked if the staff would be able to provide support to him during feeding times (help in manipulating spoons/forks into his mouth) I was told that no such support could be given... To an 18th month old child? Seriously?My only conclusion from this telephone call is that this centre is not interested in helping or nurturing children, and is instead run as a more militant 'fend for yourself' environment with a less than optimal staff to child ratio.We were able to find a much better (and more committed) daycare, and with their help, care, and nurturing staff he has now overcome this delay.The people/companies we allow to participate in our children's lives matter, and people with this displayed attitude towards our littles aren't the type I would ever want my child or others to be in the company of, much less to depend on their care for.

After careful consideration and researching daycares in the area, we decided to go with A&D. We also knew other families whose kids attended A&D and really enjoyed it which made our decision as first-time parents a bit easier. During our tour, Shelby, the Director, gave us an in-depth introduction to the centre including their license, certifications and inspection information which put our minds at ease.Our son has been at A&D for 3 months now and we know for sure that we made the right decision. He has loved it from day 1 and we have noticed how much he’s developed during that time. He is now walking, has started talking and has really developed his social skills. We are extremely grateful for the care and attention that he receives from his teachers day in and day out. He has developed a bond with all of them, especially Lisa. She has gone above and beyond during the transition process and has made it seamless for both our son and us as parents.We love the family atmosphere at A&D and the open communication, and our son loves all the organized activities, spending time outside and the in-house cooked meals.A big THANK YOU to the entire team at A&D.

Our daughter has been going here for almost 2 years, and we love the place. The staff is very friendly & there is always open communication. The rooms themselves are bright, open, and colorful. The children have plenty of outdoor play time. They often organize various in-house activities like a magician or zoo animal visit. The chef is really kind & great at her job - the kids get the nutrition and variety they need. You need a key fob to get in/out of the building for security, which makes us feel at ease. They use an app to send updates, photos & messages throughout the day to families.

This place has multiple complaint investigations and government infractions on its Alberta Child Care registry account, look it up and see for yourself. On top of that, they actively remove undesirable reviews from their google page using third party removal companies and beg and ask current parents to post 5 star reviews on their behalf. They happily keep this information from you. The care that children receive from the director and assistant director is appalling and you can witness the assistant director and director berating toddlers on a daily basis, I truly found the way they spoke to these young children shocking. The staff turnover is unprecedented, and is a huge indication of how this place is run. They abused government Covid suggestions to keep parents from entering their centre, they also abuse the locked door policy in an effort to thwart government check ups. You can’t catch them not adhering to staffing ratios if the government employees can’t enter the facility until staff from other buildings have been radioed to come over, enter the back door and cover the shortages. They really are that scandalous at A&D. There are far better programs in Sherwood Park, this is simply a place to dump your child for the day. They’ll learn nothing here and only trashy parents would think this level of care is acceptable.Every 6 months this place has entirely new staff, ask yourselves why. Employees don’t leave decent companies, they leave horrible companies. Stay far far away from this hole in the wall.

We switched to A & D childcare in March and I couldn’t be happier with our decision. My daughter gets so excited each morning when we arrive at daycare and she talks non-stop about all of the crafts and activities her amazing teachers plan!As well, I love the communication. We get daily photos and updates of how our children are doing, and the staff reply quickly to messages.We love A & D childcare, I couldn’t imagine a better centre to have my child at.

Insane staff turnover which makes sense for a subpar facility. You will be given zero information on your child’s day never be permitted to even peek into their room to see them interact with the other children or caregivers. If you inquire about your child’s day because the app they are supposed to be using never gets updated they will shame you for doing so and then dismiss your child from the facility with no notice.
