We saw Econoline Crush and they were fantastic! Great little venue with enough character to poke a stick at. Very good beer selection as well.

Love this venue. I've been for many events here upstairs and I absolutely love it everytime I go. They are always on the ball about getting people inside and making it an enjoyable event and I always find that if you're not consuming alcohol they give me pop and water for free which is always fantastic.

I've been to the Starlight Room only twice. The first time was in March for Jump into Juno Week, which was not only a great event but it was an enjoyable experience. The whole space was open, which included a few tables with folding chairs in the back of the room. Food was top notch, the bar was great, and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Before the event even began, staff let everybody wait inside because it was very cold outside, which we all greatly appreciated. This is all to say that my first experience at the Starlight Room was very positive. While I was there I heard an amazing band, Melafrique, and bought tickets to their concert that would be held at the Starlight Room in May. Not unreasonable, I expected that my experience would be similar. This time I had a friend with me. We are both disabled to a certain degree. I will not speak for her but as for myself my disability is mostly invisible (unless one reads my medical ID bracelet). When my disability flares up, it turns into full body tremors, low blood pressure, and I have difficulty with blacking out. I didn't expect this to be an issue that evening because my meds were working well and I was in generally good health all day.Unfortunately things don't always go according to plan and due to circumstances exacerbated by the Starlight Room, my condition started to flare up, and escalated quickly. While I understand that the Starlight Room is an old building and not completely accessible, signs posted all over the building state that they strive to be inclusive and safe. They say that if you have any problems to contact a staff member and they will do everything they can to accommodate you.All I needed was a chair to sit down so I could lower my stress levels and allow time for my cortisol levels to recover. My friend with me need to sit due to chronic pain. Unlike the event in March the back part of the room was gated off and we could not find any chairs. My friend politely asked if there was a place where we could sit down, and she told the staff I was not feeling well. The staff member said he'd have to ask his manager if we could go sit down in the blocked off area, but his manager said no. We asked if there was at least a few chairs we could sit down on and he said no. There was no place we could sit and our very simple need could not be accommodated. This didn't seem like a major request. We weren't asking to take folding chairs down onto the main floor to sit right up front. We just wanted to sit up in the back out of the way and recover a bit. But the Starlight Room is ableist and can only serve people who are capable of standing for 4 hours straight. Doing one simple thing to help someone whose health would have been improved by a chair was just too much for them. For a venue that has signs that literally say:THIS VENUE IS MEANT TO BE AN INCLUSIVE SAFER SPACE FOR ALL PEOPLENO HATEFULNESSNO HARASSMENTNO RACISMNO HOMOPHOBIANO TRANSPHOBIANO ABLEISMNO FATPHOBIANO AGEISMIf you experience harassment, or witness something happen, please find a ConcertWorks, Starlite Room or River City Revival House employee. All Managers have taken Bystander Intervention Training administered by the Sexual Assault Center of Edmonton and are equipped to assist you.LOVE WINSKINDNESS IS EVERYTHING/But they couldn't give 2 chairs" about us.I don't know if I will ever return to any events at the Starlight Room

We went to see the Real McKenzies tonight and it was terrible. The Real McKenzies are a great band and their show was spoiled by horrible mixing on behalf of the Starlite Room. It was so loud and distorted that you could not understand a word anyone said all night. And it is ridiculous that when there is a micked bagpiper playing you can't even hear him. The sound man should learn how to mix a band properly.

Hands down one of the premier venues for smaller concerts, was there last night (Oct. 14.2022) to watch IVardenspehere and Front 242, it was very good organized and great sound and very good visuals the Band projected onto the big screen on stage

Such an amazing venue, and was so privileged to see another live show here. Amazing staff, multiple bars and clean bathroom. Only negative was the sloped floor. I was told its to prevent people from getting crush at the front during moshing. Not worth removing A star.

Always a great time. Not big on the shared washrooms where women or what not can walk in while you're at a urinal.

Went to the Starlight Room for a daytime family friendly show. This place was not set up for a bunch of families. The venue itself was fine. The info on the tickets left much to be desired. The ticket simply stated 12:00 showtime. As families do, there were lots of early arrivals at 11:30. We were informed the venue would not open until noon. Once the venue is full of young kids and their families there was an hour long wait- with no notice- prior to the show actually starting. So, the kids who showed up early have now been waiting almost 2 hours over the lunch/ nap window for a show.Better planning and information were needed AND if you're going to have a pack of kids in a venue- sell snacks.
