Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Red Deer

We had an enjoyable time in the Hotel.Hotel and Rooms were Clean, stay was comfortable, kids enjoyed the pool and pool slide, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and professional.Overall an enjoyable stay, and would definitely recommend and consider it again in the future.

I couldn't say much outside of the fact that my stay here felt like a small hell. It was very frustrating to find relaxation and rest which one should be able to in a hotel. It seemed like more often than not the neighboring rooms weren't accurate and almost uncomfortable. Particularly the one above me often. I often got mixed messages from different shifts at the desk which was appalling as well. I've stayed at a lot of hotels but the ones in red deer in the month of March seemed like a mixed bag of treatment. None of which fully offered the rest and relaxation I needed. The best night's of sleep I've had were honestly at the safe harbour sleeping program downtown with a few exceptions. But when I was staying at the safe harbour I felt pure relaxation while I slept. The first few days I stayed at the first place I went in Red Deer were good. The first hotel I stayed at was good for a few days and the room where I emptied the water bucket as well. It wasn't the best sleep but it felt like the right place to be. I've woken up sweaty where I am now every day which isn't a normal thing for me, even if I sleep in all my clothes at safe harbour. I'm hoping for a co-ed room for at least a few nights where I am now.

Upon check-in i found the experience quite pleasant overall. The staff member great until she got to the part where she mentions the hotel amenities, thats where she lost me as it was clear she has done it hundreds of times, and it was far too fast to pick it all up. The lobby was nice and neat and the hotel appeared clean overall. I spilled some water on the carpet and took a small towel to mop it up and thats when i realized how terrible the carpet was. Extremely dirty without any effort on the cloth. Then after an hour of moving around and unpacking my wife noticed her new white socks where black on the bottom from the floor. Unacceptable and i had no time to address it with the staff on the way out unfortunately. There was also long black hair in the bathroom sink, definitely not ours LOL. There are many hotels in Red Deer, and we noticed in the evening there appeared to be a lot of workers and trucks in the parking lot. Maybe they dont mind the dirt, but not for us. I did not have breakfast which was included.

We stayed here right after Canada day. We love the location to everything. Discovery Canyon and Sylvan lake are just about20 minutes drive. The room was clean. Food was great when we had bed and breakfast. The free water with ice was great particularly during hot season. However, when they remove the hot choco powder I was hot broken upon coming back to this hotel after a week since my kids requested to go back to discovery canon. Cocoa powder is my go to drink to start and end my day to help me sleep. I hope they being back the powder cocoa.

We are surprised to see that this hotel is clean, and beautiful. It is our first time here to stay for a night. We will come back for sure!

We had a lovely stay here, close to where we needed to be. Breakfast was great, pool great. Right next door to a great nature preserve with lots of baby ducks and geese. A nice walk around lots of different memorial trees planted.

It’s nice that there’s a large field in the back to take the dog out to. Clean. Decent breakfast spread. All day coffee was a plus. Great location, nice and quiet even though it’s close to the highway. Close to all amenities.

I loved this hotel. It was so relaxing words don't fully explain. I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep with my partner. The beds were so comfortable! Rooms had all you needed. The breakfast was filled with options including hot and cold food items and juices and coffee. The pool was clean, nice in size, and had an awesome waterslide that made everything so much more fun! I only stayed one night but if had more time I would've enjoyed the weight room, as well as the bar that was nestled into the lobby.

You can't go wrong with this location,but every staff tells you something different. Rooms are small , the pool is so filthy and they have no one cleaning it the day they did was a full house at the hotel on a may long weekend on the qe2 just doesn't seem very smart especially for hardworking Albertan families in wildfire season shutting down the hot tub and not cleaning everything else is just a bad business decision. Not only that buy you really have to ask for towels in the pool area. Check in was over an hour and a half late and when we did get our small room there was dirty socks and makeup on our pillows. I can't understand why they would not be prepared for the influx of travellers on a may long weekend, that being said we know why it will always remain a 2 or less star. Do not come here with family or to rest . Sleep , stay and spend money here only if you absolutely have no others choices.
