The ambience is amazing, cool comic book references all around, great for a big nerd like me. Unfortunately, the food was less than great, kind of expensive and very oily were it shouldn't be. This place should really decide on being a bar rather than a restaurant. I particularly think it would be an amazing pub if they changed the menu a bit for something fresher and lighter. I ordered the $24 Gnocchi and it was tasty, but there were something like 3 tablespoons of oil from the Bolognese left in my plate. The deep-fried artichoke used for garnish was soggy. The salad was good. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I wouldn't come back.

Amazing ambience! It was a comic book themed restaurant with great food....The drinks are based off characters and stories!The food is just exquisite!You enter a room full of comic books from floor to ceiling...And you press the shield to enter in!It's a must visit place for a special occasion...Unless you are super rich....It's worth every penny....Best of all you get to take home a comic book with your bill :)

A sub-par dining experience at a beautiful establishment. Service was excellent but the food was simply “edible”. I did not enjoy any parts of my meal. I look forward to dining here again for the service alone; perhaps the featured menu wasn’t the best they had to offer.... (2020)

Winterlicious is back and Figures have an amazing menu with awesome drinks. The duck confit is to die for!! I loved the green curry. It's a great vegan option!! The creme brulee was delicious but it could do without the cookie. But the cookie was good too!

My wife and I went to this place for Sunday brunch and it was great! Everything from the food, the atmosphere, the decor and especially the music was amazing. Service could have been better as our waitress didn't offer us a drink menu and she said there was no wifi available (we asked another staff member and she said yes, and gave us the password). Other then that, were willing to give the place another chance for all the other outweighing factors

Dear nerds and comic/cartoon fans alike: congregate here. The theme of the entire store is inspired by nerd culture. The menu has lovely flavours, rich and light to accompany cartoon/comic book inspired cocktail named after characters you love (ex. Rick and Morty, Bumble Bee - Transformers). At the end of your meal, your receipt arrives within the pages of a single issue comic to take home. Need I say more?P.s. apparently you can pay in Bitcoin...?!?!

Wonderful dining experience. Came for dinner and drinks with some friends. The entrance is set up like a speakeasy. Giving you some intrigue to the restaurant.Started with some drinks, the menu has a great selection of cocktails. And the mixologist does a great job of mixing up off menu drinks as well. My friend got 2 different mocktails made up for her that she loved. Our server asked for flavour profiles that she liked and got the mixologist to create 2 delicious and refreshing drinks. Our cocktails were well balanced and delightful.Food was elegant and did not lack flavour. Portions were refined, so we got several dishes to share.Service was lovely, very tentative with water refills and removing glassware and dinnerware. The art and atmosphere in the restaurant is unique as well as appealing. Pricing is a little high but expected for the Yorkville area and experience. Would give Figures a solid 4.5!

The reviews that have been posted about Figures are spot on. So not going to get into it all and be repetitive.There is a disconnect between the comic book theme and the food. I just did not get it. Besides the Storm Trooper drink and a Maleficent drink (which was unavailable at the time), I personally did not see the connection between the theme and the menu items.Yes, the menu items are few. No appetizers and no vegetarian options for main course were available at the time of my dining experience. Yes, the portions are small. Although full of flavour and incredibly fresh and creative, I would have LOVED to have seen them at least 50% bigger. The price is what you would expect for this area of downtown Toronto. It isn't cheap eats by any means.The heirloom carrot salad was amazing. I was blown away by how flavourful it was. Although, what did ruin it for me was that within the spirals of shredded carrots was a long thick black hair within the food.My pasta dish was very good. I could not stop raving how good it was. But again, yes, very small indeed.Dessert was great. The beignet was delicious and wonderful. Best part is that there were actually 3 so enough to share with others.I would suggest this place for a quick bite and a cocktail but for dining, I would pass as you will leave hungry.One other piece of contention was that our server brought another bottle of sparkling water when we had finished our previous one. Please don't assume that we want another bottle without asking. This we found very unprofessional and assuming.

Cool action-figure/hero-themed restaurant. You had to press the captain America button to enter which was neat. Went on a Thursday night for food and drink and the resto wasn't terribly busy. Ordered the bramble drink which tasted great as well as the burger, which they unfortunately forgot I order so the service took long. The burger was good and a bit on the pricier side. Portion size was massive. Overall meal was ~$50.. Would recommend beet salad appetizer as a friend ordered that and it was delicious.
