Discount Car & Truck Rentals

We reserved a 16 foot moving truck with discount four weeks prior to our move. We received an email the night before moving day telling us everything was good to go and to pick it up at the south service road location at 1130. When we get there on moving day, they told us the truck was unavailable. Had a real moment of panic, but we're able to book with uhaul on the same day. Otherwise we would have been screwed.They offered us a 20 foot truck, which would have been way too big. It was clear no one cared about our problem, or about losing our business.

Very fast service considering how many cars they rent out per day. Rented a luxury suv because mine was in the shop. Beautiful ride. Perfectly clean and always full of gas. Also rented a cargo van to help a client move. Seamless service. Van was spotless and we were very happy. Highly recommended.

I loved the service of Christine9, not to be confused with Christine8, however I found it extreemly hard to deal with company policy. I have an account with enterprise, which have the same rates, and safer vehicles. I would never put someone’s life in danger with bald cheap tires in a snow storm like they have. It’s only for Christine9’s excellent front desk service that they were able to achieve a two star rating from me. Thank you Christine, also we recommend wiper blades.

I've just had a truly positive experience thanks to the management of Discount Oakville after a very frustrating day. I must say that the team listened, understood my concerns and helped me get the issue resolved - including follow up calls after they had closed for the day. The manager was friendly, understanding and showed me what great customer service looks like - I will for sure be back & coffee is on me!

Would give this 0 stars. I made an online reservation on Saturday. On Monday I called to let them know I had a reservation for the next day and to check if there was after hours key drop off. They said yes no problem. When I went the next day to pick up my rental the person couldn't find my reservation (I showed her the email I received confirming it) and that they had probably canceled it. I didn't receive a call or email canceling my reservation. She said they had very low stock because they were getting rid of their older vehicles and bringing in new ones - so she had NO car to rent to me. The rental was for a driving vacation that we were leaving on just a few hours later. I quickly called around and found exactly what I was looking for at Budget/Avis on Cross Avenue. They had a vehicle ready for me in 10 minutes. I'll use them all the time in the future. It delayed our departure by a couple of hours as we scrambled to find a new rental and then travel to that place instead.

Staff is friendly and cars are okay. I would give it 5 stars but the office looks like it's been through a war. If you're the owner and reading this, please invest a few thousand into carpet and paint and keep those great employees happy.

Experience was pretty good till I brought the truck back. Indicated that a check box for unlimited km was not done on the reservation. This was the reason my wife chose them and made the reservation. I just tried to check that info on my phone by making a reservation and there is no such checkbox option when reserving. Extra $200 charge. They were quick to offer insurance and other options at the counter but when it came to offering the $10 a day unlimited km they must of had lock jaw. Turned a good experience into a decidedly poor one. That's Ok lots of other rental companies when I move my other kids to school.

Excellent customer service, friendly staff and clean rental cars. Some of the staff at this location walk the extra mile to understand the customer situation and extend help as required. I was looking for a 8 seater van and the agent coordinated with Discount locations in GTA to get a van we required. The rental vehicle business is not a fun one to be in, as you can't tell if or when people will want what sort of vehicle and for how long. What sets one company apart from another is the level of customer service that they offer.We needed a rental car for about a week while our car was in the body-shop after getting sideswiped a week earlier by an idiot who wasn't paying attention to his driving. The parts were ordered but luck would have it we had a terrible snow storm the day before we were scheduled to bring our car in. Needless to say it was a bad time for the rental companies as I am guessing quite a few cars got into accidents and there was near no cars to be had.This is where Discount shone through for us. I get that if they don't have the exact car we'd like when we want it. They didn't try and BS or pull a fast one. I really like that they were upfront with what they had and worked with me to get something that would work.When I went into the office to pick up the car the staff was really friendly. I would even go as far as to say they looked happy and was pleased to help us out. That energy is contagious and I left feeling in a really good mood. They took the time to explain all the points on the contract and what it means in real life terms, not in the legal mumbo. Then took us back to the depot garage to take a walk around the car and they were good at spotting any marks or damage that was noted on the sheet. They spent a bit to point out the nuances of the car like where the seat adjustments are and controls for the mirrors. Nothing worse that getting into a car that isn't yours and having to try and figure it out.While we were filling in the paperwork you could hear the other employees taking phone calls and trying to explain that sorry we just don't have any more of that type of vehicle. You could tell that some of the callers were not being too polite but people at Discount were very professional and did try and offer alternatives. They were really trying to meet the needs.Just from the way they handled what I can tell was a very stressful and not the best circumstance, I wouldn't hesitate to rent from this location again. They really earned my respect.

Worse experience of my life. Car was so dirty and i had throttle allergy due to smelly seats and carpet. Charge me extra 20 dollars on bill for using 407. Gas in car was not full and upon return at same gas level they charge me 23 dollars at gas name. Staff is extra smart to fool you. Never recommend this place to anybody for my whole life.
