Good site for a remote campground being beside the lake. The manner in which site reservations are made really does not work for drop in campers as there is no cell or internet coverage so you may get set up in a site only to be informed later by the drive around attendants that you have to move as someone booked the site on line. Sites are dirty with ash and dirt covering the old gravel pads, lots of sunflower seed shells and woody debris (pine needles mainly) as well. I fit is wet weather you and your gear is going to be muddy. Typical conditions found in all the poorly maintained provincial park recreation areas and park campground.

We found this spot while touring from the Brazeau Dam to the Hydroelectric Dam on the east end of the reservoir. We stopped to take some pictures of the lake and seen that there were camping spots available. It was the off season so the camping spots were free and there were a few people actually camping.I would love to come back in the middle of the summer and take a hike around this area.

Beautiful reservoir, tough fishing, ok sites. I don't understand how a provincial park doesn't have a dump station on site and water to top up your trailer. Well is located in C block and probably others around other loops. They charge the same fees as every other provincial campground but don't offer all the services.Bathrooms are very clean and well maintained.

Lovely large sites. Great privacy between sites. Quiet and well maintained. Only downside is the gravel road to get into the campground.

I can't say enough good things about Steve and his wife, the managers here. Super welcoming when we arrived, and came over quickly on the morning we were leaving to help with a flat tire with a small pump. Well, the pump wasn't cutting it and we needed to change the tire, and he stepped in and changed the whole thing for us!! In 30 degree heat at 9:30am, with my kids crying about the flies, and the dog chewing through her leash to get to me out front, no less!. Amazing hosts, and will come back not only for the beauty of the sites, but for the managers there. Steve, you're amazing!!!

Yhe managers are friendly and helpful. The campsites are well maintained and spacious. It's close to the main campground which has a sand beach and cool water with NO leeches

Site #6If you are pulling a trailer of any kind, do not book Site #6. For some reason they thought we live in Europe where everything is backwards. We have a 24' 5th wheel and we had to drive into Site rather the back in. Now we can't go for a drive around the area, can't go to get firewood, and if there ever was an emergency we'd have to pack up everything just to get the truck out. They need to change the info on the website to state that is for Truck Campers and tenters. No pull trailers of any kind. Not a happy Camper" right now."

Really awesome Campground! Close access to both swimming areas, day use areas, and hiking trails! Also has some really beautiful areas to explore!! We stayed in site 11, and it's quite nice! I stayed in a tent for this vacation as well!Sites are a bit open to each other and the main road into the campground, and the pictures on the Alberta Parks website are a little hard to see! I definitley recommend calling the campsite managers- they're very friendly and will be more than happy to share their recommendations for sites! Their picks are really beautiful (Sites 8, 10, and 12 all have access to the water and are very pretty!) The actual sites are incredibly well-maintained, with gravel pads, and fire pits are cleared often! Bathrooms are also cleaned twice a day, or more frequently as far as I can tell! The water spigot is located right at the entrance to the campground. If you are tenting, definitley invest in some thicker pegs- the gravel pads, while lovely and dry, are VERY hard to nail the pegs into!Overall, it's a really awesome Campground! Firewood and ice can be dropped off at sites around 6-7pm (Firewood is $12, ice is $4.) Firewood comes in larger bundles!

Views are stunning. Decent water access and fishing but minimal trails.
