We planned on walking through this in half a day or so and instead spent SIX wonderful hours wandering around! It is a huge site, but so well organized with bathrooms, sitting and food stops along the way. It is a walking or scooter intensive site. Each person in their own character was wonderful. Most knew incredible details about so many different aspects of their house/market and could tell beautiful stories. We learned so much about the Acadian people through time and it was an incredible experience! Definitely give yourself enough time to do this properly. The MOST impressive part of this entire experience was the live demonstrations of old fashioned techniques. This site is self-sustaining - they make they’re own butter, cookies, doilies, dishcloths, mocassins and buckets (etc). INCREDIBLE!

This was fun. Lots of things to see and costumed performers to talk to. The village progresses through time so you see how life changed over the course of time. Lunch in town was amazing!

This place is spectacular. Literally going back in time since the workers play the characters of the people that lived not only during the era, but the ones that actually lived in these actual homes. They don’t break character much either. They are knowledgeable about all equipment used, all artifacts in each room are actually used by them. They make their own meals in the traditional Acadian way, wash their dishes and all. They tend to their gardens. It seriously IS like stepping back in time.Plus all staff are bilingual. Friendly, and you can tell they love their jobs.I’ve visited here about 3 times, but will do so again. Each time I go depending on the hour I learn something new.Go, you won’t regret it!

Highly recommended of you pass in this area to know about the history of the population. I learn a lot of stuff. Their is a lot to see, so came early to have the time to visit everything. Also your ticket is good for 2 days, so you can come the next day if you haven’t had the time to visit everything.

We were in the area and decided to make a stop to visit the Acadian Village. Was great but couldn’t get through all the building as unfortunately the shuttle wasn’t going on the day we went.We found a great little camp ground called Camping Les Maisonnettes which was very unique, quite and close to the water. Ended up staying 4 nights as the area offered other things for Senior to venture out to do in this area.

It was a great village tour to remind how Acadian lived there from 1700 to 1900 BC and we experienced the story of each house and family and how they run their occupations. So each house had at least one actor with costumes designed for that time and provided informations about the family. It was a great moments and thanks for taking care of historical sites

The village is well set up. It's a nice gentle walk with a rest area halfway through that has snacks and beverages with places to sit and rest. I liked how the second half of the village is a bit newer (20s to 50s). We stopped at the bistro for lunch and the food was delicious! Well worth the visit!!

I love this place! It is full of history. The village starts from the mid 1800's, after the Acadiens were deported, demonstrating how they lived in their surroundings during that era. The oldest house is 1846. The actors are not just people acting, they take on the persona of the people and take on the responsibilities of their time. They work in the kitchen to make their food, tend to the farm animals that are there, just as they would back then. The livestock are breeds from that era as well. There is no modernization here till you get back to the information centre. It is an all day walk, but could be spread out to 2 days if you wanted to take your time.I enjoyed talking to the people who work there, they are very knowledgeable of that time. My favourite was to see how the flour mill works. It is over 150 years old and still works as well as it did back then!If you love history this is the place to go. Most of the buildings and homes are all original, and we're donated. Each home and building has a story behind it. And incredible stories too!I would love to go back. I took lots of photos, which I don't think I can post all here. One of the places I did not have a chance to try was the restaurant, the menu looks super good. But it was very packed full of people during lunch hours of noon to 3 pm.
