Lovely ambience but food wasn’t great. Had a strawberry mojito that did not taste as sweet as I’d liked…the salt and pepper calamari’s were okay, could have used a little less salt and more spices. The food portions were small and the popcorn tasted horrible, not sure what was used to season it but glad she took it away when our meals arrived. Not a place I’d come to again but maybe trying the popular sliders next time might change my mind.

Went here today for my wife and my anniversary for something a little different. The food and service were excellent. They have a really wide selection of unique cocktails if that’s your interest and a decent selection of draft beer including local craft selections.We made a reservation for 4:45 and we were seated and given the option of sparkling or still water. However they charge for their water regardless of choice. It’s only $2.00 but it’s still an odd thing to charge your customers for. They also give you a complimentary serving of popcorn.The food was excellent! The truffle and Parmesan fries are awesome and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the sliders including the soft shell crab.If you do make a reservation be aware that you are given a time limit if your table has a reservation made on it for a later time and may be advised that you will have to finish up and leave before that time. We weren’t given an option of moving tables; something I found odd as we would have loved to stay to try one of the many cocktails as an after dinner treat.Would recommend if you’re looking for something unique and different!

Great little place. The cocktails were 5 stars - amazing variety and so good! The food was good, but not great. We had the steak salad and a bunch of different sliders. The cheeseburger slider was actually really great, but the rest of the sliders we tried were a bit bland (but they looked amazing!). Service was solid. I’ll go back but probably just for drinks.

We had to check out Cleaver as their Happy Hour prices and menu certainly had us intrigued. What a fabulous, fun, hip bar/restaurant right on 17th Ave in Calgary. We had a great experience right from the moment we arrived. The host was friendly and attentive and kept us in the loop as to where we stood on the wait list. It was a Friday night at 10pm and we hadn't made reservations (we certainly will next time!). This is one busy and fun place to be! Once we got in our waitress arrived quickly and brought us the food and drink menu. Our waitress was super easant and very attentive throughout the whole night. We were there for dessert (pudding as the Irish refer to it, love that) and drinks. Although, having checked out the dinner menu, we shall definitely be returning to treat ourselves to the very interesting dinner menu. Lots of intriguing menu items and so different from other restaurants.So we ordered the Toblerone & Oreo baked cheesecake to share. What can I say? It was absolutely yummy! So interesting with the meringue kisses and even a sponge toffee swirl on the top. The cheesecake was smooth and creamy as it should be and with the additional meringue and toffee and chocolate sauce it is a dessert/pudding not to miss.We had a few of Cleaver's amazing cocktails: The Immigrant, Dose of Original Sin, Whose's Your Daddy Now? and, of course, a Guinness on tap - as you can't go to an Irish owned institution without having at least 1 Guinness!The drinks are sophisticated, well presented, imaginative and delicious!! And $5 when you go during Cleaver's Happy Hour or after 10pm on weekends. Unbelievable!! The atmosphere is buzzing and a fabulous place to spend an evening. I can't wait to go back and have dinner at Cleaver. Oh, I have to mention that you get a little container of amazingly delicious, to die for homemade popcorn complimentary with your drinks and the flavours on the popcorn changes each day. I really hope Cleaver adds their delicious popcorn as an option to their appetizers as it is soooooo good! This place is amazing for food and drink!

Food was good but portion size could’ve been better given the prices. I love the cocktails there. Service was good too, but the tip starts from default 18% minimum, which was weird! I like it and everything but there was no option of 10 or 15%, felt like it was forceful.

Best happy hour in the city! The cocktails are amazing, and only $6 during happy hour. Get the protestant cocktail if you like something on the sweeter side (it's made with cotton candy and tastes like a cake!)The happy hour food deals are also great, but I always get the macaroni when I come here. A bit pricey at $15 but it is so rich and filling, I'd say it's worth it!

Really great spot to feel the hustle and bustle, but got really loud inside. We were sat at the high tables that are very very tight to each other. It made it difficult to enjoy our food, and each others company.

We went to Cleaver and realized it was Happy Hour all day and cocktails were $5! Some sliders were on special as well. The drinks were yummy. The beet salad was well prepped and presented. The caesar stack was a meal in itself. The fried chicken was tasty. The jalapeno corn dog and waffle were good. I would have asked for some maple syrup to make it a little more savoury. The Beef slider was good. To me the soft shell crab slider was the star and I wanted more but missed the last call. The cheesecake was a nice treat and not overly sweet. The service was good. Our server helped us choose our drinks.

Really awesome spot for drinks and food! We went on happy day, cocktails and beer was $5 each- and it was quality drinks! Really fun and extensive drink menu Friendly staff and good food-portion sizes aren’t large but I didn’t expect that from this type of restaurant:)
