Saturday dim sum at Ginger and Onion. First time here in a very busy plaza for parking on a Saturday with Al Premium grocery store, Scotiabank, Dollarama and afew other small restaurants. We ordered a few traditional dim sum and some non traditional that we had to try. Everything tasted great, portions are acceptable the service was excellent. We arrived after 1pm but it was more than half full so I can imagine it would be busy at 11am through noon. Total cost per person is about $20-$30 if you all are average eaters. We will come back again to try dinner..

If you're looking for a dim sum experience that will make you happier than a panda with a bamboo buffet, then look no further than Ginger and Onion Cuisine. I've been there twice now, and each time was a flavor explosion in my mouth (in a good way, of course).The food is seriously amazing - high-quality, delicious flavors, and plenty of variety to choose from. And let's not forget about the service - our waiter was so attentive, I almost felt like I was on a date (but don't worry, I didn't get too attached).I'm not gonna lie, folks, the baked BBQ pork bun at Ginger and Onion Cuisine is like nothing else I've ever tasted. It's so unique and delicious, I almost felt like I was experiencing love at first bite.As I sank my teeth into that perfectly fluffy, slightly sweet bun filled with savory, melt-in-your-mouth pork, I knew my life would never be the same. I mean, forget about first love - this bun is the real deal.So if you're ready for a dim sum adventure that will leave your taste buds dancing the cha-cha, head on over to Ginger and Onion Cuisine. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Their portion is huge. Pork siu mai is huge. Mango pancake is pretty good. Lobster e-noodle is alright, the noodle is a bit chewy. A lot of varieties. Overall the quality and value is there. Food is a bit slow though. Will return.

My extended family ( Table for 15 ) have been frequenting this restaurant for a number of years now. We have experienced both their Dim Sum dishes and their night time dinner dishes.We have always found the food and the service to be excellent. The classic Cantonese / HK cuisine have all be on point because of their flavour and freshness.The service has always been good even during their hectic busy times.The place has always been clean and neat.Please drop in and then let us all know what your thoughts are.Happy Eats everyone on Canada Day 2022 !!!

One of the most popular Chinese restaurants among the local Chinese community. Been here before during my last visit in Toronto 5 mths ago n I'm happy to say this time round they are still as good and popular as ever. There are tons of dim sum choices and I was told all the items marked as recommended are all good and a must try. I won't hesitate to go back again to try out some of the other dishes on the menu. Saw their set menu promotion and the price is CAD128 and good for 4 to 6 pax, you get half chicken, double lobster, steamed fish, veg etc. Would love to try on my next visit for sure.

Ginger and Onion has early bird pricing for dim sum before 11am so this place is guaranteed to be busy in the mornings, especially on the weekends. The restaurant is tucked in the corner of the Alton Towers plaza and the inside is quite cramped as well.They have some unique dim sum items as well as a few old school, hard to find dim sums too. We tried their deep fried beef and enoki seaweed roll, steam bean curd roll, steamed vegetable dumpling, fish maw cotton chicken, mango pancake, rice roll with fried dough stick and baked BBQ pork bun.The beef enoki roll was crispy outside, tender inside. Bean curd roll tasted good and was tightly wrapped but their chopping of the ingredients inside is sloppy, some were properly julienned others were whole large pieces. The spinach dumpling filling was great but wrapper was more soft than bouncy. Fish maw cotton chicken tasted great but wish there was more than 2 small pieces of fish maw. Rice roll with fried dough stick tasted good but the dough stick was under fried and very soft. The mango pancake didn't have much mango and the pieces that were in there were sour. Lastly the BBQ pork bun was just slightly undercooked inside so the dough was still white and gummy, an issue that might be solved by switching buns from the top/bottom rack of the oven, or wrapping without the bigger pinch of dough in the middle.we also got a Singapore Vermicelli that was cooked well, just lacking in a bit of salt.overall, the food is okay and more worth if you're dining during the early bird morning period. They also add an automatic 12% gratuity to your bill but they didn't tell me.

They change their Dim Sum menu. They added some interesting new items. They also removed some of our old favourites. All I can say is the new items did not impress. The tea charge is now $2.40 per person. A 12% service charge is automatically added. The service was okay.

2nd time coming to this location for dim sum, and the food has been consistently good. The dishes come out hot and fresh, and the service is what you would expect from Asian restaurants. The “dim sum essentials” are definitely done perfectly. Would recommend.
