Even though I was window shopping, I could feel the good atmosphere about this place and the person working there was thoughtful, nice and caring about her customers. The selection was great : you can find many type of hats and motifs. They also have a section to customize your own. Definitely will come back to check it out when I have more time!

So I finally decided to treat myself to some custom made fedoras, wasn't expecting to buy them this day but things happen (lol) - came out with 2. Read the end for some tips on how to choose a good hat.The service is impeccable, they’ll try to accommodate all your requestsand make sure you’re happy. Each employee has different tasks (to mold the hat, to trim it, to accessorize it etc.). There are so many choices for shape, customizing the colours (wool felt, fur felt) and all the little accessories they add on them. The prices are so so reasonable considering what you find online that are already made but at Ophelie Hats, you get to customize yours inside and out. It's exciting but oh my! The options! They also have fascinators if you're feeling extra royal.They have a lifetime warranty so will reshape it up foryou if it loses shape - and fur felt can be reshaped to a different style. I'm not sure how that works though.PRICE/QUALITYI can't recommend it enough for service, quality, selection and value. It depends on other factors but it's about 65$+tx for a Wool felt hat and 165$+tx for a fur felt hat. For the price, the hat quality is good. If you want the Lambo’s of hats, you will be paying 2-3X the price at other places in Montreal. For the average hat enthusiast that wants something nice, customizable, affordable, fashionable, this is the place to go. Don’t compare apples to oranges like some people here are doing. You can buy hats in other stores for 40$ up to 1000$+. There is a difference at every price range and different markets for each.After visiting many hat stores and during my research, here are small details to note. They don’t have linings on their hats, they only have 1 size mould (but many shapes) but they can stretch or add more sweatband or ribbons around the crown to make it fit. Mine fit well in my case. They also use hot glue to stick the sweatband (no leather, just material) onto the hat VS sewing it on. You can go back to get it replaced for small cost. For the average hat enthusiast, these details will make no difference - if your needs fit with their hats, great, go for it. If it doesn’t then there are other stores that will.HOW TO CHOOSE A HAT1) choose wool felt VS fur felt, quality, look, price2) choose colors (also go under sunlight, lighting affects colours)3) choose shape of hat (crown height, brim, other factors depending on shape - look at their sample models + booklet)4) the stiffness of the hat is important, let them know5) choosing all your accessories if applicable, ribbons, feathers, how it's finished, bows, etc., this is done at the endDefinitely do your research before going in so you have a few ideas or let the helpful staff there help you out. If you plan on needing more time to select and/or customize your hat, I would suggest calling for an appointment. I knocked down a star because I went a few times to discuss/fix things and noticed a few things in terms of quality/service/friendliness but not significant enough to affect the overall positive experience/product.

They customized a straw hat for me after spending 20 minutes searching for just the right one in the store. They had another flat cap I really wanted, but not in my size. I came back two days later, and they had pulled one in from their supplier for me. This one too received a bit of Customization attention. So very satisfied.!!

great selection, we found a hat when even we couldnt in NYC/Manhattan. Its the real deal! Cool neighborhood and very nice servbice.
