Park Sands Beach Resort

Stayed in one of the few cabins here and it was delightful. The cabins are pretty basic, but the bathrooms have been updated and there is a full kitchen. Both bedrooms are about the same size and the beds are comfortable. Most people staying here are in their own RV's and are drawn here because of its wonderful location right beside the boardwalk and the beach. It is family friendly, but I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was after 9 pm.

Stayed in the master suite here. The location is great, wonderful beach access, great park near by with tons to keep kids happy!The suite itself is nice enough, there is plenty of linens, comfy beds and couches a nice large glass shower and full tub, although the shower was not cleaned well before we arrived. There was soap scum in the shower, grout was dirty and there were previous decorations left up in the room. There is also wifi and several large TV’s which is great for when you have a long day at the beach and want a quiet night in!The real issue I had was that the suite shares a wall and has an entrance door to where the owners stay. At10:30pm on a Tuesday night we heard loud gongs, water sticks and chanting going on. Our entire suite STUNK like incense and this all continued for an hour and a half? It was so loud and impossible for us to sleep, it woke up my daughter and we could not sleep due to asthma and having issues breathing with the heavy smell of incense that lasted well into the next day. We took a peak over the fence to see what was going on and there was several people in there banging on massive gongs. The next day we had a pamphlet by our door advertising a “sound bath experience” that's wonderful and all but it would be great if they didn't offer this at 10:30 pm in a place that shares walls with the supposedly highest end suite on the property! For this reason I believe our stay warrants a 2 star review. Had we not have had the gong experience I would have left a 4 star!

The place is turning into a real dump, it was the go to place, no money is being put back into the park, washrooms are never done, toilets are plugged on a regular basis. Just gross not at all recommended. The feeling is the same with other guests, the rv resort next door is the best place to go to.

Credit card charge issues. Same issues as other reviewers.The site charged to our card was occupied. We were unable to obtain a refund after multiple attempts to email and phone/text. There is no office or personnel just an locked office building with notices up on phone numbers to call/text. Very poor communication.Also- heads up there is a very loud gas powered dune buggy thing that does endless loud circles of the campground making talking/hearing difficult.All in- though not terribly clean and a little rundown/illkept, it does have a old-time charm and its location is fantastic. Probably fine in a fully contained RV but not good for campers/tenters as the washroom/shower/garbage/recyling facilities are very rudementary (as in ... bring your own toilet paper and soap to the bathroom, pack your garbage home).

Stayed over for the night in their camping grounds. Bathrooms were not clean and no toilet paper provided - they should let their campers know this when booking in! Awesome spot otherwise.

Stayed over Canada Day weekend (attending a wedding at the nearby Beach Club). Our site was pretty big, the place was clean, and the location is just unbelievable. What an amazing place - beach is right there and gorgeous, ice cream and beach food stands are right on site, they even had a band playing at the campground for Canada Day. Easy walk up to Parksville downtown, for any thing you might need (bank machine, hardware store, groceries etc.) without ever feeling like you were actually in town. Everyone was friendly, and we really enjoyed our stay. We'll be back for sure!

Lovely stay over. We stayed here for 2 night while on our way to Tofino. It was early spring , so the park was still quiet. Found the staff friendly and helpful - you just gotta call them on the phone.. that’s small RV parks in Canada! Luv it! The bathrooms were clean and that’s important. The Location is The Best!

Same sorta deal as the low reviews. Came travelling from Alberta and from maps and the pictures it looks like a good place to stay (For those with trailers) anyone else with tents and such not this place is not suited for those. The power supply is 240v and use trailer plugs. So can’t plug into it. And again it seems to be year round for some and looks like a scrap yard. Save your money and go camp in old mill or somewhere nice like that. Zero stars!

Despite its ideal location the poor maintenance of washroom facilities, (both men's toilets inoperable for two days , overflowing fecal matter) and the lack of any visible staff to report problems to make it clear that this trip will be the last one to Park Sands. It's not unfriendly, just not there. Sad to lose this venue that we have visited often in the past

Would not recommend. I had to cancel my reservation and I read the policy extensively. I knew I wasn’t in the guidelines of a credit or reimbursement. But I thought I’d ask! The woman told me she was driving and not in the office. And I wasn’t going to be receiving any money back. I told her I understood. She then said you can use as credit until September, I’ll call back when on the office. I waited and waited. I then called was hung up on. I emailed several times with no replies. September is coming to a close and my family and I are now out the reservation/money. I didn’t expect to be given anything, but answered calls and emails would be nice. Poor customer service.
