Budget Car Rental

I've rented several times with the team at this location. Friendly and helpful service. Sometimes not as prompt but it does tend to get busy at the location. Will continue to book with Budget/Avis and recommend to fellow drivers.

Service was okay. Front counter guy seemed nice. Everything was fine until I got my CC statement and noticed and extra $65 charge on my bill. I called to inquire and after they looked up my account and put me on hold for a while I was finally told that only the manager could help me. He wasn't in. I've been trying to get a hold of them ever since with no luck. They just don't seem to be picking up their phone. Long story short, couldn't get a hold of a manager and the clerk insisted they couldn't help me. After calling the customer service line my I kind American call centre woman helped me out promptly.It turns out that the problem was that I had called in and asked if I would be able to pick up my car about an hour early. Having exactly the same experience as Joel and I'm double charged by them. I called and they said the contract shows that it wasn't prepaid. Although the contract in my hand shows that I prepaid everything.The same thing happened he said he'll put a note for the manager.I contacted the RBC to have them follow up this.I'll post the result here.Whatever the result is, I'll never rent from them again.Like Ken, I was given a very small car and the snow cleaner tool wasn't put in the car. I was lucky I was at a friend's house and I borrowed his.The cruise option of the car was also not functioning.This was my first experience with them and will be the last one.I'm not happy at all, especially for the time I must waste for getting back my money. I rent a lot and have good experience with other rental offices, but not this one.update:So my rental was for one day. Feb 1, 4 pm to Feb 2, 4 pm.They told RBC that I dropped off the car the next day ( Feb 3, 11 am) so they charged me for the extra day! They are lying!I have the habit of taking a picture from the fuel level when dropping the car. And the picture I took has the time stamp and the location.This is so unacceptable and fraudant!Still following up with RBC with the picture I have in hand and will post the update here.

I booked an intermediate car which should have capacity of 5 people and 2 luggage, but they gave me a small WW Golf with tiny trunk, I only could put one luggage in it, I asked for another available car with a trunk for two luggage but they said it's only one and tried to persuade me to upgrade by paying extra money. Luckily we only have two adults and one kid so we could put another luggage on the back seat. I usually could get a much bigger car even to book a compact car from other places and car condition much better than this one. Not happy with their service.

I had a great experience with this company this weekend. They gave me a free upgrade which end up being a great car, where are excellent when I forgot my phone in my car at the end so I could go back and grab it, and I had excellent customer service. I would recommend this or the Avis beside it to anyone looking to rent a car at a reasonable price.

I've been waiting for a refund for six weeks from this location. They're a mess. The guys are nice enough but there are lots of places to rent cars downtown - go with another.

SCAMMER ALERT, BUDGET/AVIS rentals: upon returning my car I noticed they are scratching all the bugs from the windshild of the customer's car before me. Then they said that the windshild had a tiny chip (so small that it is not visible!).After that they did exactly the same performance to me! They spent more then 10 minutes to scratch every bug from the windshild and claimed that I made a tiny chip that is not possible to notice at all. I've rented twice from this location. Both times I noticed that they're severely understaffed and both times I had to wait 45 min to get the car I reserved. But that's not the big issue I have with them.The first time I was given a car that was not filled with gas and told I'd get a credit on my next rental since I filled it up. Sounds like they'll do right by me, right?The second time I rented the car they said they couldn't give me the credit they previously promised, but that they would see what they could do". Jeff at the front desk is amazing!! Ran into some tech issues in the car and was able to come to a resolution for me considerably quick. Personally brought the car up to me since we had luggage and was super attentive. Really appreciated his thoughtfulness and energy. Thank you!
