North Simcoe Victim Services

To this day, North Simcoe Victim Services [NSVS] is the best organization I ever had the privilege to be a member of as both a Crisis Intervention Volunteer and a Team Leader. I was a part of the organization for close to 5 years before I embarked on a career in law enforcement. As a police officer, you see the acrimony, agony, and tragedy of an occurrence and not always the solution. NSVS helped me hone my craft in talking to people on what was likely the worst day of their life and being able to bring a small light to tragic circumstances taught me so much about the basic yet powerful act of compassion with empathy. The staff at NSVS is outstanding and I owe them a great deal of thanks and gratitude for all they have done for me on my overall life journey. I truly miss being a part of the organization and I hope to work with them again in the near future.

So many people don't realize who or what they do. They help people on some of the worst days of their lives. First responders call them out to scenes to assist victims in the immediate aftermath of crimes or tragic circumstances. They have staff and a large group of highly trainined Volunteer Crisis Responders. They are always looking for more Volunteers, as the service is 24/7. If you have time to volunteer, I urge you to consider this agency.
