Macdonald-Cartier Bridge
Adaquately does what bridges are designed to do. Does not need 6 lanes of vehicle traffic, Pedestrian and cycling infrastructure could both be much better.

Beautiful vistas of the Kitchissipi. The Ottawa side is more elevated (Rockcliffe neighbourhood) with a rowing club near the water and the Gatineau side is lower with a marina. If you are not the one driving, you can see museums and the Parliament, amongst other things. One of only 5 bridges to cross the Kitchissippi (Ottawa River - Rivière des Ouataouais) in Ottawa-Gatineau, the MacDonald-Cartier Bridge is the most eastern bridge. This is a very efficient bridge as it has three lanes on either side.To the east, the river can also be crossed at any of the 5 seasonal ferries, unless you prefer to drive 113 km on the Québec side or 98 km on the Ontario side to cross in Hawkesbury. When arriving on the Québec side remain on the 50 to head towards Montreal or get off on Fournier to head to Pointe-Gatineau or the Jacques-Cartier Park and the old part of Hull. When arriving in Ottawa, an immediate right turn will bring you past several Embassies and towards the Byward Market. The bridge otherwise becomes King Edward Avenue. Locals know to connect to the MacDonald-Cartier Bridge via Sussex Drive near Global Affairs Canada to head to Québec.Concrete barriers were erected a few years ago either to protect pedestrians brave enough to cross this bridge on foot or to prevent cars from stopping for photos. It feels grand in a car but very isolated on foot.

Great Interprovincial views as well as protected walking/bike lanes on either side of the bridge separated from the road by rails.I use this bridge to bike from Ottawa into Quebec regularly and the bike lane is never busy, although the car lanes always seem packed.
