Cable Bay Trail
Such a great place to get out and experience the west coasts best coast on VI. I do hope they are able to protect this gem. definitely worth the walk. Keep in mind there is a pretty good change in elevation but it's fairly gradual. lots of folks and their pups.(Off Leash) :) Sea Lions and Beautiful Coastal views.

Great little hike out and back to the water. Dog friendly too although a lot of dog poo on the side of the trail at the beginning. People need to clean up after their dogs!

Cable Bay Trail
One of the most gorgeous hikes just outside of Nanaimo. Be sure to wear waterproof footwear in the winter because the trails are usually wet. You'll definitely fall in love with this hike if you love river side walls that lead to the coast!

Cable Bay Trail
Fantastic trail. Great views, especially after a fall rain. Well kept, easier going down than coming back as many trails can be. Wasn't very busy and people are very polite and mindful. Nice place to visit that isn't too out of the way.

Cable Bay Trail
Very scenic hike. We went with our 9 month old in a chest carrier and it was fine. A few steep sections as well as some stair sections. Light to moderate physical exertion.Well worth the hike to get to the lookout over the water at the end.Same way in/out.

Cable Bay Trail
It's a great walk through the forest with our dogs. There are a few steeper sections on the trail, but still easily walkable. A longer hike, so take some water.

Great hike, mostly downhill and then you have to hike back up so be aware it's hilly. But the trail is wide and easy to follow.

Cable Bay Trail
We had nice long walk until my husband slipped and dislocated two fingers. Some parts of the shore were slippery so I recommend you wear proper shoes even though it is not a very long hike.

Cable Bay Trail
Gorgeous spot to watch marine life and various boats navigate the quick-moving water through the channel. Often sea lions can be seen surfing through, as well as whales if you get lucky.
