Fun, fitness and sportsmanshipI never imagined my kids would take up fencing, but I'm so glad they did. Matt has created a friendly supportive club where kids can train hard, learn skills and make great friends.I especially love watching the older kids lead and mentor the younger kids.

Matt hands down is a great coach, motivator and all around good family guy. Our son is loving fencing- it has taught him so very much ! Fencing is such an individual and group sport - I have been blown away with the professionals in this club.Highly recommend!!!Its also not terribly expensive to get involved with - and lots of affordable second hand equipment.

I started fencing here and am still a fencer here. The coach, Matt is extremely helpful and a really nice guy. There are classes in both Vernon and Kelowna twice a week so you don't need to drive to the other city. I honestly highly recommend this place to anyone who has done fencing in the past or just wants to give it a try.

If you want to give the sport of fencing a try there is no better place to go than Okanagan Freestyle Fencing. The coach is an awesome, understanding instructor who knows both how to train and support you to improve. Each lesson builds on previous knowledge and you're encouraged to find your own style and what works for you. Even if you've never fenced before, don't feel intimidated—club members (and the coach) are always ready to help you learn and give you tips on how to improve. If you ever wanted to pick up a sword, the Okanagan Freestyle Fencing Club is the place to do it without question.

Great place to come and learn the art of fencing. Beginners and experienced students welcomed. Kids 7-10 program, and an 11+ group. Suitable for boys and girls, young and adult!

My 14 year old daughter started at Okanagan Freestyle Fencing in September and she has found the perfect fit. The club provides fitness, self reliance, competitiveness, and friendly camaraderie, with the added bonus of coach Matt and every other coach and member being incredibly welcoming, kind, fun and respectful. Matt sets the expectations and boundaries of the club clearly and consistently, and he is wonderful with people of all ages. His humor, along with that of many others, makes it so there is always laughter and fun mixed in with the games, skill building, and learning of the sport. I've been a student for several years. Started by dropping off my kids for practice and leaving, until I realized it made more sense to stay, learn and have fun as well.It's a really fun, healthy, respectful environment. The coaches are awesome too. And the support athletes at all levels, from beginners and dabblers (like me) to students who go on to compete at the national and international levels.

Teaching is well executed and highly professional. My son of 11 1/2 whi just started Fencing, enjoy every moment he spends with Coach Matt and his team. Well done
