Very bad customer service with a prejudicial attitude from company representatives today. I'll travel to other supply stores across the city instead of returning to this one.

The girls at modern Beauty supplies went above and beyond. Love them. Come to see them for all your hair needs.

Worst experience I have ever had in retail and I am 52.I walked in and was looking at colors. I don't have a license. I was approached and asked if I had an account. I don't. I asked how I get an account. I was told I need to be licensed. I said ok. Well I will just look around at the colors and accessories.I was then approached and told I was not allowed in the store unless I have a license. I asked why I wasn't allowed in a public store. I was then YELLED AT AND TOLD I HAD TO LEAVE.When I asked why the last lady to approach me was being rude I was yelled at again and told to leave. Only explanation given was I wasn't licensed.

EDIT: Paul, the regional manager reached out to me and allowed me to exchange my product. Thank you Paul!I usually never write reviews, but I am very disappointed in Modern. I purchased a leave in conditioner on Jan 14 and I used it a couple times only to find out it wasn’t moisturizing enough for my hair. I had the receipt and I came in today on Jan 26 to EXCHANGE my product for something more suitable for my hair. I wasn’t asking for my money back, I only wanted a different product. They said because I used the product, that I wasn’t able to exchange it …but how am I supposed to know if I like it if I don’t try it out? I could’ve been dishonest and told her that I didn’t use it, but I’m not that type of person.I’ll go support Cosmoprof or any other beauty supplier that values and appreciates their customers.

There was in issue with a recent purchase. the manager was out of town but i was extremely impressed with BRITTANY she took every effort to make sure my issue was resolved. She went above and beyond. highly reccomend dealing with her. she really cares about her customers

I’ve been going to this location for several years and I will be honest and say that a lot of the folks who work here have really stand offish attitudesBeing a hairstylist and customer service worker myself I do understand that this industry is exhausting, HOWEVER that does not excuse the constant negative and stand of fish energy I receive every single time I walk in. The people who work here are not personable or friendly. I remember asking a question regarding purple deep conditioner and the person rolled their eyes at me ?! Completely and utterly disrespectful attitude. I only do pick up now because of how much I dislike the staff. Hire better people or maybe just be a pick up service if you do not like interacting with people :)

Always have great service here and they are always helpful.
