Travelodge by Wyndham Marathon

I'm with Brad - no desk, chair, night table, lamp, just two beds and a kitchen counter of sorts. Also, nearly froze to death overnight - the controls on the heat/cool unit were non-functional, stuck on cool at 8 degrees. Wall thermostat non-functional too. Finally pulled the plug on the unit early in the a.m. No breakfast that we saw either. On the plus side, beds were comfortable and staff friendly but not enough to make up for the terrible conditions.

I did not stay at this hotel because it was fully booked, however I was travelling cross country - montreal to calgary and I had driven for 16 hours before arriving in Marathon. I called all the other hotels and motels when I found out here was fully booked! No where would answer the phone. The gentleman that was working Monday night at 10:30pm was so wonderful though, he went out of his way to help suggest other options, he spent at least 10 minutes on the phone with me trying to find me a solution. When I told him I was just going to sleep in my car he offered me to sleep in my car in the parking lot of the hotel for safety. I ended up slamming another caffinated beverage and hit the road to thunderbay. I wouldbhave loved to stay at this hotel as there are many great reviews, and as already mentioned, impeccable service. Thank you so much for the support and assistance!

The service from the manager at this hotel was exceptional. It is obvious that he takes pride in ensuring customer satisfaction. We checked in very late and he ensured that there would be no issues upon our arrival. The rooms were clean and we couldn’t have asked for more. Well done!

Wonderful brand new motel. It has only been open 16 days. Manager was super friendly and very helpful. Not all the furniture has arrived yet. Beds very comfortable, lots of hot water , very clean and quiet. We wish them well in their new adventure!

Great service from the front desk upon checking in for our reservation.It is a newer hotel and kept clean and comfortable sleep.The hotel is located in the heart of town with Tim Hortons adjacent from.We stayed the one night due to a winter storm that blew in and the following day left Marathon with a beautiful snowy scenery.

I strongly recommend this hotel. Not only are the owners super nice and obviously care about their guest experience, but the rooms have everything you could want, including a mini kitchenette area.If I was to make one recommendation, it would be to have higher-quality coffee. But other than that, it's perfect. I am on day 4 of a long trip, and this is so far the best stop. Thank you!

It is brand new at the moment, no end tables, chairs or anything to sit on and eat right now. They are still adding as they are going. The service is great,the rooms are nice and clean. From this date, bring chairs and something to eat off of. They will have furniture soon. Just giving a heads up. Best place in marathon to stay at.

This is a nice new facility so it’s clean and well organized. Check in was smooth. You can see they are working to keep adding facilities. They have a juice machine and coffee available free in the lobby. No breakfast though, and the ice machine was not hooked up yet. However unlike previous reviews our rooms were fully furnished. We only stayed one night on a long drive across country.

Great place to stop on the trip from Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay. It's a new facility, very clean and quiet. The desk clerk/manager was very helpful. Coffee, tea and juice in the lobby and Tim Horton's next door. Short drive to Pebble Beach to see Lake Superior up close. Our comfortable room had a table and chairs, two queen beds.

Staff was friendly and check-in was fast and efficient. But, they've obviously just opened - the rooms are missing nightstands and dressers, and there's no breakfast available (although there's a Tim Horton's just outside the door). The rooms are clean and have a useful kitchenette area with a sink and fridge.
