EHN Vancouver Outpatient

I've left voicemails and sent my info and it's been 5 days no one has responded.

My A&D Counsellor at Edgewood Vancouver, Virginia Lundhi threw me under the bus without warning when I gave consent for her to talk to The Ministry of Family and Child Development. Her assessment was based on talking about my drinking for about 30 minutes out of the 5 sessions I saw her for. The rest of our time was spent talking about my divorce. Months after she had stop seeing me as a patient, had no idea how I was doing, and I had revoked consent for her to speak to MCFD, she took it upon herself to call MCFD and told them I was a protection concern. She also told MCFD that I should enter an intense alcohol in-patient program such as the one her company offeres which is approximately $15,000+ to start to deal with my emotional abuse.

I've seriously benefitted from Edgewood's structure. I'm 3.5 years sober today and have never felt better.I recommend it if you truly have a personal desire to quit.

Amazing program and supportive counsellors. My brother went to treatment at this facility a few months back. He was struggling with alcoholism and was in denial for quite a few years. He was unable to attend inpatient treatment because he could not take time off of work, and being a father. We spoke with Patrick about a possible intervention and he had much insight on steps to take and how to approach my brother about treatment. Patrick was very understanding and relatable. My brother went to the outpatient program under Patrick and his lovely coworkers. He continuously attends meetings there and was sober for the entire program. We have seen a real shift in my brother, and he is starting to get his life back together with his family and friends. Although this process has not been easy, the whole family has felt extremely supported and hopeful. I can't thank Edgewood enough.

I attended Edgewood in Nanaimo and used their after care program in Vancouver. It was not “fun” - it was hard, and they were hard on me - and thank goodness - I am grateful. If you want to get well, and you do what they suggest, your odds are good. But it is up to you, not them, to make it work. They do a good job of giving you the tools to recover, but you have to use them.

I volunteered for Edgewood Vancouver and payed the $3000 fee under the pretense that it would provide valuable tools for my recovery. Sadly, I quickly became aware this would not be the case. The program offered by Edgewood is mainly informational DVDs and powerpoint presentations. Most of what they provide can easily be gleaned by quick google searches for free. The group sessions are a joke and the proposed fellowship offered is a thinly veiled money grab. The counselors are inept and have little insight into the recovery process. Even they admit that about 15% of people benefit from this program. More over their main recommendation for individuals struggling with the IOP is to join their residential program which costs $15,000 a month. Unless you are forced to attend by your insurance company, potential patients would gain much more from going to 12 step meetings and joining a home group.

They literally saved my life and gave me the tools to save myself.I attended Nanaimo in-resident care for 58 days and then aftercare in Van and Vic.You have to brave and honest otherwise you won’t be successful.

Edgewood saved my life. I was brought to Edgewood through my ex-husband and his alcoholism. I went to the family program called Insite! This course changed my life!! This program was the catalyst for the amazing life I have today. After the one-week program in Nanaimo, I attended the Insite aftercare in Vancouver for 2 years. This group was instrumental in supporting me and guiding me when I was so lost and didn't have anyone to talk to. I learned about my own addiction of Co-dependency and learned how to navigate this with my whole heart and lots of love from so many people. With the amazing support from Patrick and Nelson I navigated coming home to myself and learning about boundaries, enabling, self-love and self-worth. Was it easy? NO. Was it worth it? YESSSS a million times. In the end I had to leave my marriage after 11years. It was the hardest and bravest thing I ever had to do in my life. I needed to do it to save myself. I am so proud of the woman that I am today and Edgewood was the catalyst for me. I would not have been able to navigate this journey on my own and I don’t believe anyone can or should. I thought it was all about the alcohol but turns out I had my own addiction to recover from. I am a certified life coach now and help many people navigate through recovery so they can connect back to who they truly are. This is what Edgewood did for me. I will be forever grateful!
