Attentive staff made sure we and our luggage was looked after. As sleeper passengers we made use of the dedicated lounge with refreshments in some comfort.

Historic train station undergoing external renovation.If travelling to Montreal, go to ticket counter and they will validate your ticket. Next door you can check your hold luggage in.There is a lounge area where you can wait for your train. Free coffee and other drinks available.At 45 minutes before departure make reservations for meals at a check in desk before boarding the train.

I don't know why I haven't taken the train before. There's so much leg room in the economy" class with very comfortable chairs and amazing views. The food is cheaper

VIA Rail just got back into offering travel after the Covid Restrictions were lifted so, they only offer departures from Halifax one day per week right now (Wednesdays) and they only have one staff member available at the ticket counter. This staff member is bilingual and is very consciencetious and wants to help his customers. If you're there in person at the correct time of day during the work week, you will most likely get what you need from the ticket booth. Can't go wrong with such excellent customer service there.

I envy the train service Canadians have. Excellent business class. Probably the best business class service on the continent. Excellent food served by the most well-trained staff I have encountered. Well done Via Rail!

Great way to travel and experience people and see Canada. Just came from Victoria to Halifax, through TO and Montreal, then through New Brunswick. Just lovely people making the trip wonderful. Loved the business lounge in T O but loved the actual shopping and ambience in the Montreal Station! I would do it again .
