Ed's Truck Service

If someone takes time off their day and puts a long a*s paragraph as a review, it means you’ve put some serious impression of yourself on your customer. one of the mechanics( don’t exactly remember his name) dealt with my truck and did absolutely amazing service. Everyone in the comments actin like they living in 80s or something and someone will fix their truck for few bucks. Everything cost you $$ today. It was very alive environment at the shop, people love what they’re doing there. Been to some mechanic shops in Ottawa before only to realize “Do it once,Do it right”. Definitely recommend to everyone. Thanks for the help guys.

Our main cube truck blew a leaf spring mount and caused the U-joint the wear down (u-joint was noisy to begin with) and it is very important to us that this truck is rolling at this time of year. We took the truck to ed's at 8:30am and we have our truck ready to pick up now at 4:00pm and I we feel it is a reasonable and fair price. We've taken our trucks here before and we will take them here again.

Ed's have been servicing our fleet for years now, and always provides great work and great service. Highly recommend.

What I have heard is that this is a honest reliable shop

Dear Mr DeWitt, We are sorry you feel like you were not valued as a customer. We did try talking to you when you came to our shop last week but you refused and used vulgar language towards our staff. We did charge you as per what Mitchell 1 suggests charging, 9 hours not 10, even though we worked 11 hours on your vehicle. As for the extra parts, we did contact you on May 15th to advise that one caliper was seized and that it was ordered. You advised our service manager to go ahead and change it. You did not request to supply the part yourself at anytime as you did for the rest of the job.Again, we are sorry you didn't appreciate the service you received at our shop as we value all of our customers

Not a lot of positive reviews here but I'll add one. Been here twice and both times, great experience. Their rates are equal to the average in Ottawa (I called around) and both times I was there they were extremely helpful, particularly Steph. First time he found the problem when another shop couldntc, and second time he made a mistake on the labour required and simply ate the cost, no questions. Rest of staff that I met in office and shop were great too. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is that the time to get it back was longer than expected, but that was partially due to me dropping it off without an appointment, after a long weekend. Great spot for your truck needs!

I have owned the truck long enough that I had the rear rotors, pads etc replaced twice before. I was billed between 5 & 6 hours on both jobs. Ed's charged me for 10. To make matters worse, they sourced additional parts without authorization.Believe the other reviewers who say they overcharge. I wish I had.This is a follow up to my review of 17/05/2019 and the response from someone from Ed's Truck Service.I was unaware, until today when I logged in to post about ongoing problems with my truck resulting from my unfortunate visit to Ed's, that I discovered the follow up post by Ed's. My only comment is that I DID NOT authorize a caliper NOR an additional park brake cable (I had provided 1) for which I was charged. Neither did I use 'vulgar' language, as alleged.My follow up post relates to taking my vehicle elsewhere last week to get the park brake adjusted that Ed's charged me for but never repaired properly. At that time it was discovered that Ed's had failed to reinstall the left rear caliper properly. It was hanging by the brake fluid line only and running on the inside of the rim. I have put 4700 miles on the truck since it was at Ed's in May and God knows what could have happened if that brake fluid line had broken while I was traveling 70-75 miles per hour on an interstate highway!Ed's paid to tow the truck to their shop and replaced the caliper and rim but have refused to accept full responsibility for their negligence or reimburse me for my losses resulting from the truck being out of service for 4 days.I will take the truck to another shop today to check Ed's work before it goes on the highway.

Different day and time everytime I'd call about my truck

Used Ed’s a few years ago for my food truck.Way overpriced compared to others I’ve used since. I’m pretty sure they charged me for parts/work they didn’t do since the following year I had to replace a part that was on their invoice. The mechanic then said the part was way more than a year old.No urgency to get the truck on the road, we lost days of business. They also forgot to tell us that we needed an alignment after the work they did and we ended up chewing through two front tires in the weeks to follow. Their answer” did you see an alignment on your bill? No, then you needed one, we don’t even do them here”.I would avoid them if you can.
