Went in with a broken starter from a pretty obscure peice of equipment and the staff at Cooper bros recognized it as soon as I put it on the counter then walked to the back and fetched a replacement for it without even having to look at the part number on my starter.Compare that to the hours I'd spent previously going to other parts stores waiting for someone to try to cross reference and match my starter - failing to find one or telling me they'd never heard of the engine it was from.Tried ordering it online, apparently had a match, but when it arrived it didn't work.For me its Cooper Brothers all the way for starters from now on.Very reasonable prices too!

I bought a starter from Cooper Bros Auto Electric. It was great they had it in stock on the shelf we went down half hour later picked it up. Went to install and found out it was not the starter. We took it back the next day to return it they would not give our money back they would only give us a store credit with a 20% restocking fee. I would not recommend buying starters or alternators from this company as I was also told it was a genuine OEM when it was actually a Dixie aftermarket.To add to this. I do appologize I did put wrong starter when it should of said it was not the starter as an issue. The absolute unprofessionalism that I was met with was my main issue. The fact that is was told, before even looking that is was a special order and they would not take it back. Was the first indicator of absolute unprofessional manner. Then after explaining it was in stock and we picked it up a half hour later we were then told the restocking fee and that it would only be a store credit. But over and about that the way you responded to a bad review tells me just how much you care about your customers. That is a joke. Reading the previous bad reviews after and how they were met with a professionalism of a great run company tells me that management has likely changed and the customer is no longer cared for. And no worries I am sure the company I work for will no longer do business with you. Have your self a great day.Also you may want to put on your invoice about the restocking fee as there is no mention of any restocking fees on any paperwork I Received.

My wife and I have been to a couple mechanics over the years and this is the first time that we felt that we were treated honestly. From the first email to Rob to speaking to Jeff we knew we were in good hands and appreciate the communication and great service. If you want honest dependable service please give the team at Cooper Brothers a call!!

I have been bringing my cars to Cooper Brothers for more than 15 years and have recommended them to many of my friends, who have been equally satisfied. It is the most honest car repair business I have dealt with since my previous favorite honest car repair business went out of business.In fact, my previous mechanics are the ones who recommended Cooper Brothers when I called them because I was fairly certain I was being ripped off by the car dealership where I'd reluctantly had to start taking our van for repairs: I'd brought the van to the dealership for a routine oil change and maintenance and was told it required thousands of dollars worth of work, including a new suspension system. I was surprised because I brought my car in every six months and nobody had ever mentioned those problems—usually they would say Oh

Called in for advise about an alternator issue explained the issue and all I got was idk what to tell you I don't know what's wrong with your car without any advice or remedies anything on the situation, poor service!Update:Wasn't trying to get free advice" or to get it fixed over the phone I don't know of any shop that charges for "advice" I've dealt with many shops over the years and you guys are the only ones that aren't willing to help costumers over the phone lol and don't want to give "free advise" as you say you guys must have all the knowledge in the world if you don't wanna give advise cause it's "free" lol all your guy had to say was it could be this or this

I am letting people know that after I put the complaint about my $200 rebuild on my alternator the owner Jeff Cooper contacted me and asked me to bring the alternator to him and he would make sure the alternator would be working before it left the shop. I went to the shop to pick it up and Jeff had the alternator guy hook it up to show me that it was charging, it worked perfectly fine. I want to thank Jeff Cooper for taking the time to deal with me and make me happy. Jeff I am thanking you very much for fixing and looking after me, you are a stand up Guy.

Do not use these guys!My 85 yr old widowed mother took her ’91 Honda Civic to Cooper Bros. in Edmonton for an exhaust repair. I had the car inspected at Midas earlier and we determined it needed to have the rusted exhaust system replaced from the tailpipe to the catalytic converter (mid car). My mother insisted Cooper Bros. do the work because they had previously done some minor work for her. I gave my mother (who is extremely sharp) explicit instructions to tell them to replace the damaged exhaust system – not just the muffler and tailpipe. After looking at it, Cooper Bros said they would fix it.They did not - they only replaced the muffler and tailpipe leaving the rusted middle section of pipe untouched! The manager, Jeff, later admitted they weren’t equipped to replace that section of pipe. They charged my 85 yr old mother $628.95 for the muffler and tailpipe. I brought the car to Action Muffler yesterday to find out about replacing that remaining rusted section and they told me they would have charged about $350 for the muffler and tailpipe! Cooper Bros. overcharged her about $280!!While my 85 yr old mother was waiting for the initial exhaust work at Cooper Bros, manager Jeff convinced her to replace her timing belt. He did this while knowing the car had low kms (130k), she rarely drove it (about 100km/year), and would not be driving much longer. Note that Cooper Bros. had inspected her timing belt less than a year earlier and told her she didn’t need one. Unknown to me, my frail mother booked an appointment and was charged another $1076.67 for this unnecessary labour-intensive job. They also left an important head cover nut off which I had to source and replace!Cooper Bros. took advantage of an 85 yr old elderly widow by telling her they could do an exhaust job they knew they couldn’t do and then convincing her to replace the expensive timing belt. In total, she paid $1705.62 for repairs to a car that wasn’t even worth that much! My mother gets about $20k a year in pensions, lives in a senior’s home, and couldn’t afford this. Jeff and Cooper Bros. saw an opportunity to take advantage of her and they did. They are dishonest and shameful!
