Five Star Roofing & Masonry

We recently used Five-Star to replace our flat, torched bitumen roof and to rebuild a crumbling brick chimney. They also properly re-flashed all around our several skylights (one of which had leaked) and stack pipes. Ron (Nickerson) took the time to meet with us on several occasions to explain what was needed, and how they would go about the work, and he was available throughout to answer questions and check on the progress of the work. During the work, once the old roofing material had been removed, it was discovered that some additional minor repairs of some rotten wood, next to some (already known) rotten fascia, also needed replacing. They took care of it. Since we have solar panels on the roof, that had not been properly installed many years ago, they also found and made arrangements with a company specializing in solar panel systems to come and decommission and move them, then put new footings on top of the roof, and sealed them, so that the panels could be reinstalled correctly. Really appreciated Ron's approach and forthrightness, and felt like we were in good, knowledgeable hands. Would use them again.

Great service- good team, respectful, polite and they did a really thorough clean-up before they left. Every day, they made sure all the nails were picked up, too. We have a shared driveway, and the neighbours are in and out frequently. The crew hopped right to it; nobody had to wait. When we needed a roof repair they were there the same day to make sure we didn't get wet. Then they worked with us to make sure the job was done right. Everyone from the people on site to the people in the office made the experience something I can feel good about.

Worst company I've dealt with in years. They've been back several times for shingles flying off from Incorrect installation. I've had leaks around my chimney and they literally cut the bottom of a silicone tube off and squeezed the whole tube out around my chimney it was literally the shape of a silicone tube. I asked them to make sure no nails were left in the gutters as they go to a drain underground. I just recently found a whole roll of roofing nails plugging up my gutter along with roughly 20 to 30 single nails. I wish I could add pictures as it's quite amazing at how bad the work is.

We had lost several shingles and some damage to our roof due to hurricane Fiona and when I called they showed up the next day and gave me an estimate and then the following day they repaired our roof. Great service at a time we needed a n emergency fix.

This company is way overpriced. I’ve tried to use them twice and both times they quoted outrageous prices

I am very impressed with the level of customer service recieved from Ron at Five star roofing. He took the time to explain and show me exactly what materials would be used on my new roof. The team arrived after I left for work and were gone before I got home. My roof looks much better than a lot of the roofs that have been done on my street in the last few years. The 25 year warranty on parts and labor are also the best I could find. No one else came close to the same warranty. I am very pleased and would highly recommend Five Star Roofing.

Excellent service from the first phone call to the final nail. Brenda, John and Jason were all outstanding to deal with, and the roofing crew did a great job. Very pleased with everything, would certainly recommend Five Star.

One of the worst roofing companies in the Maritimes. Over priced and poor quality. We definitely learned our lesson going with this company. Don’t make the mistake we did and shop around first (Reddit is great for real time advice!). Five Star ripped us off and we have since had the work reviewed by contractors who have said it is some of the worst quality roofing they have ever seen. We are now out 7 grand and our roof is still leaking.. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Poor workmanship over priced never fixed their mistake. Waited until my roof was striped to tell me the job needed all new plywood to do the job right.
