It is distinct from any college I have visited. The professors at Focus College Abbotsford are lovely, and the class size lets you focus on more one-on-one engagement. Because the society is small, everyone knows everyone, making it feel like a family, even on campus. It is like a small step that can help you to achieve your big goals. It is a great place to begin to step into a bigger world.

Absolutely the worst place to study. Incompetence through and through. Don't waste your money. Find something else.

tl;drReported to the PTIB.Many instructors unprepared and/or unqualified.Unresponsive and dismissive administration.Administration appeared unconcerned about the experience, outcomes, and welfare of its students.CEO was even emailed about issues, with the majority of students signing; response was poor.Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce was contacted to try and help resolve some issues.---I took the time to write this because I had an extremely disappointing experience at Focus College, and I want to save others from suffering the same experience. I was enrolled in and completed the Advanced Certificate in Software Development program in partnership with the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce. My time here was marred by a series of administrative and educational failures.Focus College demonstrated clear administrative neglect, from disorganized or non-existent course outlines and irrelevant content to an unresponsive administration. Many faculty members often seemed unprepared and unqualified to teach the subjects, leading to a subpar learning experience. Furthermore, the administration was dismissive and passive when confronted with concerns and issues.Several classes were plagued with issues like lack of direction, instructor tardiness, constant interruptions, and distracting background noises such as children yelling. Additionally, teachers would leave early, schedule one-hour breaks (for a four-hour class), or teach information not relevant to the industry. We were often not provided with basic educational standards such as assessment criteria, grading rubrics, or format requirements for assignments. These assignments took an extraordinary amount of time to be returned, most often with zero feedback, and sometimes not before the next assignment or test that relied on the results. Moreover, course evaluations were not conducted for the majority of our courses (even after being reminded multiple times), which hindered our ability to provide constructive criticism. When we reached out to the administration to express our concerns and request changes, we were met with downplayed, dismissive, and disrespectful responses. This lack of support and poor communication made it even more challenging to succeed in the program. This inability to communicate effectively (or at all) led to students showing up to empty (virtual) classrooms on multiple occasions. When we finally chose to email the CEO about the issues, with the majority of students signing, the back and forth was filled with demonstrably false information ending in an unjustified unwillingness to proactively serve student outcomes. I should note, however, that one request was granted. Although, without getting into details, it is quite likely that the outcome of the request might have occurred naturally even without our intervention. It's just that the opposite would have been abysmal.Suffice it to say, the experience at Focus College has been the lowest quality educational experience I have ever been a part of, by a significant margin. It is extremely frustrating to see that the college does not seem to care about the experience, outcomes, and welfare of its students. I am disheartened by the amount of time and effort we students put into this program, expecting a quality education and support from the institution, only to be let down time and time again. This point is particularly critical, considering the college had numerous opportunities to prevent such a dismal experience. In conclusion, I strongly urge prospective students to reconsider their decision to enroll at Focus College. The immensely disappointing experience, combined with the lack of support and proper education, makes it an unwise choice for anyone looking to develop their skills. Save your time, money, and energy by seeking alternative institutions that genuinely care about their students and provide the quality education you deserve. Even though my course was funded by the Government, given the chance again, I would 100% not take the program.
