Melanie's Cakes

When we found our wedding venue in Newmarket we immediately started looking for local vendors to help make our day special. We met Melanie at an open house at Holland Marsh Winery. She had samples, and who doesn't love free snacks! We were blown away by how delicious her cake tasted and knew we would definitely be considering her. Later when we met with her to discuss the details of what we wanted, we opted to buy cupcakes for tasting. We devoured them while she listened to our thoughts and looked at our pinterest board, she sketched a design right then and there in her studio and I have to say we loved how it turned out! People always remember a few key details about your day, our guests still talk about how good the cake was. No joke. Her carrot cake is unreal, it's classic and simple but so so good. She was such a pleasure to work with and our wedding cakes were amazing! We froze our top piece and ate it a year later for our anniversary, it was still very good! I would highly recommend Melanie's cakes. Especially if you plan of actually serving the cake to guests.

We hired Melanie to make a cake and cupcakes for our wedding and they were delicious!! She was so easy to work with and she was available to answer any questions we had during the planning process. So many of our guests comments on how good the cupcakes were! If you are looking for a cake, cupcakes or desserts for a gathering, birthday, wedding or just because, Melanie is your girl!!

Celebrating my friends during 2020 was not easy, however Melanie made happen! I was able to give my best friend a wonderful birthday surprise and send my coworker a lovely pink cake to celebrate the arrival of her baby girl. I completely trust Melanie’s creative vision and she was responsible for the designs of both cakes. I am delighted with the results and both recipients said the cakes were delicious. I look forward to working with her in the future.

Melanie made our wedding cake for our big day and she was absolutely amazing to work with! Her communication leading up to our wedding was professional and friendly and the cake itself was exceptional! We actually had someone ask us if the cake was fake, that’s how perfect it looked! Melanie is very sweet and was extremely accommodating with our requests. The cake and icing tasted amazing together and the added florals made the most perfect finishing touch! I highly recommend Melanie for all of your baking needs, her cakes and cookies are delicious! :)

Melanie has made several cakes for my daughter's birthdays and other special events through the years. Her cakes are so incredibly delicious, full of flavour and big crowd pleasers at every event! Her creativity, designs and attention to detail are incredible plus she is an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Mel!

We had our wedding this past weekend and had Melanie bake our cake and cupcakes. Melanie was amazing from the get go, she suggested sizes and counts and flavours. She always was so accommodating and helpful and always answered all my 912272762728 questions in a timely manner. We decided on a 6” cake with a mix of mini cupcakes and regular size cupcakes and they were so delicious not to mention beautiful. Everyone was raving about how delicious they were. My husband and I were lucky enough to take some left overs home and we ate them all in two days!!! We could not stop eatting them. We definitely recommend Melanie Cakes and will be using her again! - thank you for making our day that much more perfect!

Melanie is absolutely amazing at what she does! From the moment we started planning to trying the samples to finalizing our cake, she was wonderful to work with. She is friendly, accommodating, and so talented!When we saw the cake, we were in awe of how beautiful it was. It was everything we asked for, but better than we could’ve ever imagined. The cake tasted like heaven and we can’t get enough of it. We got lemon raspberry; we love it so much that we know we will keep coming back just to have it again! Melanie is an amazing baker! She created a gorgeous birthday cake for my 30th. Her cakes not only look great but taste great too! We have Melanie booked for our wedding cake which has been bumped by 2 years due to the pandemic but through everything she has been incredibly accommodating/helpful & patient with our wedding plan changes. I am so grateful we were able to have Melanie make us one of her beautiful cakes before our wedding so we were finally able to try her fantastic work! Melanie designed and baked our cake for our recent backyard wedding in June! She was such a pleasure to work with and was very reasonable when I couldn't make up my mind! We ended up going with this absolutely beautiful two-tier carrot cake. There are a variety of flavors she offers, however after our cake tasting - this one seemed to stand out amongst the others. We felt limited to flavor choices but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to have one of her cakes as they are stunning. Thank you again Melanie!
