I got a Hair cut with Akil Jacob, his work was professional and had great attention to detail. He offered valuable suggestions and engaged in conversation to make the experience enjoyable. I highly recommend him as Akil is a professional and talented hairstylist.

A great first experience at this shop with Akil! He knows what he's doing, asks what you want, offers suggestions, and shows that he actually cares about the end result. He'll talk to you, and walk you through what he sees and thinks. Unlike other shops where the stylists just loudly talk to each other and barely pay attention to what they're doing to your hair. Definitely coming back to visit Akil!

I visited IDNTY barbershop heartland for a haircut and had a great experience. Akil was the one who cut my hair, and he was very friendly and professional. He took the time to understand what I wanted and offered some helpful suggestions for how to achieve the look I was going for. The haircut itself was excellent - Akil was precise and careful, and he made sure that everything was just right before finishing up.

Austin A is a great barber and gave me a great cut. I had extremely long hair that I refused to cut because I typically get really bad cuts. He took his time and took me through his plan. Even styled it afterward to put a cherry on top. Amazing experience!

I have mixed feelings about this place.Recently booked a “master” haircut with Mylz C. since I saw his work on social media. I booked an appointment with him from 1-2pm on June 23. Unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed in my haircut and the experience:- He was 15 minutes late to the appointment.- It felt like he just wanted the cut to be over with and finished my cut around 1:45. So my haircut was give or take 30 minutes.To his credit, he did apologize and I told him that I needed to leave at 2pm for a meeting. So maybe that affected the experience. Not sure what I was expecting, but for almost $100 (after tax and tip) I was hoping for a more tailored experience with some consultation.Mylz is clearly skilled at cutting and the other barbers respect him, so perhaps I caught him on a bad day or something.On the other hand, I had my hair cut here previously by Tommy who provides the “upscale” haircut option at around $25 cheaper and it has been a very positive experience. Tommy is always on time and takes the full hour to make sure that my haircut is up to his standards. He gives me advice on what type of haircuts best match my hair and head shape. In addition, he takes the time to inspect my cut from multiple angles, cleans his tools and finally lines up my cut with the razor blade. I didn’t get that from my “master” haircut.Overall, I can say the barbers here are clearly skilled, but your experience may vary. I also know that time is not an indicator of quality in the haircut, but I do think the experience and professionalism still matters when you are paying $70-$100 for a cut.

Just cut my long hair at IDNTY Heartland today. Pleasantly surprised that they did so well with long female hair. With my inquisition, I came to understand that their skills were learned from professional hair schools emphasizing on both male and female hair stylish training. I was initially intrigued by their cool decor, but I enjoyed my experiences even more, as well as high quality products! Shout out to Shawn! Ladies - give it a try at this cool place!

Akil truly exceeded all expectations. He was extremely welcoming and had a friendly demeanor. He took the time to listen to my preferences and asked questions about my face shape, hair type, and overall style goals. It was clear that he was genuinely invested in finding the right cut for me, rather than just going through the motions. During the haircut, the barber struck up several conversations with me, making the experience feel more alive and genuine. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my visit. He took the time to truly understand what I wanted and provided excellent service. I highly recommend him to anyone in search of a skilled and personable barber.

Got my hair cut by Akil twice, and the second haircut included a beard trim - truly the best haircuts I've had. He really takes his time and you don't feel him rushing to get to the next client. He listens to what you want, gives his input and suggestions, checks in to make sure everything is to your liking, and makes good conversation. I usually trim my beard myself after some bad experiences with previous barbers, but he killed it! His background is in engineering, so it's no surprise that he has a great attention to detail out here engineering fire haircuts ;) Will definitely be back.
