Caneworks

Caning chairs is a skill that is disappearing. I had these wonderful chairs that I bought 30 years ago and Tony came and looked at them, confirmed their provenance, and said he could make them new again, which is exactly what he did. I am very impressed and happy.

Vicki & Tony were wonderful to work with. They went out of their way to find the perfect replacement for the cane in my antique headboard. It looks fantastic!

We have used Caneworks before and will again. They do superb quality work and we recommend them without hesitation. Only caveat is they used to share space with an antique furniture store in Toronto but not anymore, so we had the option of driving our single chair to and from Glen Williams, about 75 minutes from downtown Toronto, or Caneworks would pick up and deliver the chair for $95 each way. We opted to drive, met Vicki at the specified time and place, and then my husband and I had lovely lunches at the Copper Kettle pub next door. For quality work, none better than Caneworks, but next time we hope delivery will be possible to a more convenient Toronto address.

I was looking for someone to redo the cane on my 6 dining room chairs. I looked on line and found Caneworks. Tony's quote was comparable to 2 others I received as well. The difference was that he responded quickly and provided a lot of detail in his quote which made me feel comfortable as I was reluctant to use someone who was not recommended to me.
