We met Doug Boland through a mutual friend who suggested to us that Doug and his company could install an air conditioner for my parents upstairs area. We got in contact with Doug and he sent the guy who is going to install our A/C unit not a salesman like all the other companies we called for a quote. This was a huge determining factor on who we chose to do our install. The installer (name of James) came in and let us know that the old furnace was not adequate and we could put on an A/C unit but there will be problems down the road if not immediately. He let us know why and the solution was, he definitely did not try to sell us on the best" and "biggest" model. He said with the technology today

I had two outdoor faucets from 1980 and a clogged bathtub. Boland took care of the faucets, and got everything flowing again for a good price. I would hire them again, Thanks!

I had a leak from the bathroom upstairs, that came through my ceiling. I needed a plumber ASAP, because I live in a townhouse, and our parking lot was going to be shut down in two days for repairs. He would have no way of getting to my place. When I phoned on the Thursday, and asked if it might be possible for a plumber to come by Friday, he texted me back very quickly to say that they would be there on Friday between 12–4. Excellent customer service! The plumber came as indicated, determined the leak was from my toilet, replaced everything and tested several times to ensure everything was fixed. Rob was very professional and meticulous. This is the third time I have used Boland plumbing, and have been extremely pleased with their service. Highly recommend them!

Our household has used Boland Mechanical for the past 5 years and found the company very professional in how they conduct their business. Boland has always provided us with good options and quality advice when we had any questions prior and during the installation. Their staff has always been very knowledgeable during the installation of the water heater and the servicing of our furnace. Every time they worked in our house they left the work area clean. Always punctual and a great value, they make us feel good and we have learned every time we spoke. A long time Calgary company, we are happy to be able to support Boland Mechanical.

Replaced our 40+ year old (2) furnace and air conditioner with 1 furnace and a new air conditioner. Did some miscellaneous plumbing fixes while on site. So excited to have the old ones gone and looking forward to any savings we can get on our gas/power bill with our smart thermostat. Awesome job, James and Rob. Boland Mechanical has done work at our house ever since we renovated 20 years ago. They provided plumbing and gas fitting services during our renovation, and have provided those services to us ever since. More recently they have started to provide HVAC services. They have always provided first class work in a timely manner at a reasonable price. A couple of recent examples. On December 27, 2020 our kitchen sink backed up. Not sure if anyone would be working on a day that many would have taken off in lieu of Christmas or Boxing Day, I contacted Doug to see if we could get help with the sink. Within a couple of hours Rob was there, and he spent nearly 6 hours, to 8:00 pm, augering out the drain in our basement. More recently James installed a new furnace in our house. For the first time since we bought our house 30 years ago (including a new furnace installed 15 years ago by a major Calgary HVAC company), we have heat properly and evenly distributed throughout our house. We will not use anyone else for our plumbing, gas fitting and HVAC needs.

After an excellent job of installing our air conditioner we contracted Boland to replace the dreaded poly B in our house. Once again the job was performed beyond expectation in a professional and timely manner. Four thumbs up from us!

Boland Mechanical was hired by the previous owners of my home to repair 2 faulty items from the pre-possession inspection - the hot water tank was leaking at the relief valve and the furnace was not starting properly. The previous owners paid for the servicing and we assumed everything was fixed. After we got possession, it turned out that neither problem was fixed. I was able to fix the valve issue myself, but we called on Boland Mechanical to look at the furnace again. The technician came over and spent a few hours diagnosing the problem. In the end, the fix came down to simply rotating the fuel gas valve to a different orientation. Despite the simple fix, I was charged a hefty price tag for 5-hours of labour, plus multiple part changes that were performed during the diagnosis that weren't actually the root cause of the problem. This was very disappointing considering these were issues that the previous owners were supposed to repair (and pay for) as part of the home sale conditions. I explained my frustrations to Doug, and he did offer me a 1-hr labour discount on my bill. I didn't think that was enough, hence the poor review. Outside of these issues, I will say that they were very responsive and timely, and the technician was friendly and nice to deal with.
