Seascape Coastal Retreat

Hard to find anything wrong with this place. Location is excellent if you want to use the local trails. Lots of close trails like Middlehead and Warren Lake. About an hour and a bit from Skyline Trail, but the view along the way is worth the drive. Accommodations were excellent. Very clean, with a great view of the water. Ice available upon request as there is a fridge but no freezer section. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows and extra blankets if needed. A few options for sitting on your deck, such as Adirondack chairs and more upright plastic chairs. BBQ was clean and was put to good use as there are few places to eat if you are travelling before June 1. The local grocery store had a good selection for meals. Loved the hot tub, which was clean and warm. It's private and had a great view of the stars at night and the water and fishing boats during the day. Rod was great, and our email was answered quickly when we had problems working the remote for the TV. He came over right away to show us what we had done wrong. No issues after that. The water cooler was a nice touch, and loved the small electric fireplace that took the chill off since it was mid-May. I suggest unit 8 or 9 for the most privacy. Regardless, the large picture window gives you a great view of the bay, fishing boats and seabirds. An excellent place to spend a few days.

Stayed here for a couple nights and enjoyed it immensely. Great location, very clean, and this may be weird to mention but it was the comfiest bed with the nicest linens.We had a hot tub overlooking the ocean which was fun. The only thing I wish they had was better pictures on their website of the cabins and kitchenette (there’s no oven) just cause I like not being surprised.

This has to be the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed! The view was AWESOME! The little cabin was also very well equipped with everything you need, had chairs outside and even a bbq. The bathroom was completely renovated, and the shower pressure was perfect. The heat was also great, with a little stove which was also cute. Great location, check in was safe and easy, and overall a really positive experience and our favourite place on our Nova Scotia trip!

When I was researching this place, I noticed that there weren't that many pictures on their website. Which is a total disservice to them because this place is absolutely amazing. It was a little painful booking a little cabin because of the price but I promise it's worth it. I had cabin 2 and I found it to be spotless, including the little hot tub on the deck which was a godsend after a full day of hiking. It is modern with anything you'd really need in a little cabin, super comfy/cozy. The best part though is the location, setting and the view!! The pictures I attached to this review don't do it justice. Totally breathtaking. I didn't have any contact with staff as check in and check out was done completely virtual, which made it pretty easy.I can't wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed at a cottage at the Seascape Coastal Retreat for 4 nights during our stay on Cape Breton Island. The location of the cottages couldn't have been more perfect, with each cottage having an amazing view of the water! The cottages themselves are extremely nice. They are very spacious, extremely clean and have all the amenities that one could need. We were impressed with the amount of space to spread out and also the quality of the beds and pillows. Although there was no one coming in to clean the cottage due to covid, the trash and towels were changed every day and sheets were changed on the 3rd day. They also left Tim Horton coffee pods each time for the keurig, a very nice touch. Each cottage is extremely private and we hardly saw any of the other people staying there. The outside deck with Adirondack chairs was a perfect spot to have morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. The large picture window in the front of the cottage allows you not to miss a view even when you are inside. If we return to this area again we would absolutely stay at Seascape Coastal Retreat without question!

This was the best possible place to stay on the Cabot Trail Its location is ideal, close to restaurants and Cape Breton National Park. The view from the cottages is a wide open seascape. The cottages are the perfect size with everything you could need. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking. They even provided robes! The breakfasts delivered promptly at 9am every morning with a fresh pot of coffee were delicious and great fuel for hiking. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. No need to read more reviews, just book it!

The cottage was cute, clean, and private - perfect for us! The hot tub and view of the water were extra special touches. I only wish we had been able to stay for more than one night. If we ever return, we will absolutely book another rental!

Loved this place & wished we could have stayed longer! It was perfect for 2 people & a very comfortable, self-sustained cottage. The views were spectacular overlooking the bay - we even had a visiting eagle on the beach. There is also a beautiful garden on the property where you can relax. Close to a number of restaurants with many trails to visit in the Highlands National Park. A perfect place to explore the Cabot trail & enjoy Cape Breton.

First of all the view from the cottages is absolutely stunning. It's worth the price just for that alone. Cabins were clean and spacious enough for two people. The inclusion of the BBQ and kitchenette were great, gives you options for cooking meals when not eating out.The hot tub at the cabin was the cherry on top, beautiful views from it, quiet surroundings, what more could you ask for?

This place is a dream.The owners were friendly and very helpful, even coming out to the garden one evening to chat snd tell us we might be able to see the Northern Lights that night. On advice, we went to Warren Lake for a walk which we really enjoyed.We went to the Bean Barn Cafe for breakfast and highly recommend it, especially the French toast and oat and molasses bread.The weather wasn’t great for the 2 nights we stayed but it didn’t prevent us from enjoying the cottage. It had everything we needed including peace, tranquility and privacy. I felt sad to leave and hope we get to return one day soon.
