Hertz Car Rental - Ottawa - 881 St Laurent Boulevard HLE

So apparently all rental locations in Ottawa now have a new policy due to theft that if you do not have an address within 100km you cannot rent from them. We'll that policy is fine but when someone prebooks the car 7 weeks in advance for a family vacation and they leave the address with the booking when the policy changes you may want to tell the people that booked the car so that they are not left stranded with no vehicle in Ottawa while on a three week vacation that includes a child visit access for yourself and one for your ex wife (since you both have custody of one child) and you are the one responsible for all travel.Again with clear communication rather than just well that is the new policy figure it out" I would have been much happier (Especially given someone was in the building complaining how she was nor charged the quoted rate while needing a car due to an accident and having not been from anywhere near Ottawa)"

Poor service, no proper management. Cars are never cleaned properly. Always understaffed and just a revolving door of people who work there, no consistency. Location used to be run by good management and had very good staff there a few years back, but that seems to all have changed now as old employees and management is no longer there anymore. Would not recommend.

Was the last large car we could find in Ottawa for the long weekend but the staff who served us on Friday 29th afternoon were easily the most helpful staff I've encountered at a car rental company.There was one person with short black hair and glasses who appeared to be new but did everything they could to help us get on our way and was super friendly. Would've easily mistaken them for the manager - very impressed.As others have stated if you don't have your credit card you're not getting a car, but be aware you need to have enough credit for the full rental amount + an extra $400 (which caught us out!)Car was clean and didn't have any problems currently.

The employees and management here are incredibly rude. Creating a terrible reputation for hertz and my assumption upon reading the comments that I wasn’t the only individual treated this way. Work ethic needs to be reevaluated and customer service is absolute garbage here. I’m never coming here again, I once heard just because someone spends several of years working for a company doesn’t give them the right to treat people however they want. Customers would get treated better at enterprise as I’ve never had one bad experience with them.

If I can give them 0 stars I would. They make it seem hard to get a car for anybody. They gave me 2 door Sierra, when I specifically booked online for Toyota. They told me it is unlimited mileage, also the contract has unlimited mileage. They charged me a extra 750$ because of this. I even showed them receipts and the contract and they told me I’m in the wrong. They are crooks in suits honestly, if I knew this was going to happen I would have never came here. Had me fooled.

The car was practically new, the interior was clean. In general, I am satisfied. Thank you very much to the assistant Abdirahman Nur, he helped me as a newcomer to orient myself, explained everything clearly and made this rental the easiest for me.

Great service at this Hertz car rental on st laurent blvd in Ottawa. I want to thank Shawn for the excellent service he provided my daughter when she rented an SUV to go on a trip. Highly recommended. 5 stars.

This location is the worst.First time to experience such a garbage service and experience in Canada.If you are a person of colour, be ready to have your reservation denied for fear of their car being stolen, even after being a repeat customer at other locations.Being a franchise location for thrifty and hertz, they making up their own rules here and thr manager doesn't care to offer any other solution.
