Dutchie's Fresh Market - Grocery Store in Waterloo

Very disappointed. After a long day at work I traveled across town with my 7 year old daughter to buy items that I seen in todays flyer. 1st I was disappointed that some items I went for were not available. That’s ok I understand things like that happen but what happened next was inexcusable, my 7 year old needed to use a washroom really bad and asked a very nice girl who worked there. Moments later the Manager who clearly was having an intense phone conversation on the shop floor was being incredibly disrespectful to the worker, he was so busy reaming her out he completely ignored me as I was standing there with my 7 year old. My 7 year old was so uncomfortable seeing this she wanted to leave and we had to go to another place so she could use a washroom. I’mA Supervisor of 60 employees and I understand you get stressed out or frustrated but I would never talk to my employees that way and never on the floor In front of customers, customers that were completely dismissed. I will not shop where employees and customers are treated this way, I will not be back.

Came here today for the first time and was shocked at the low prices. I came home, cooked my lean ground beef and was instantly grossed out, puddles of grease/fat.I looked online and instantly regretted purchasing anything from here... There's actually a whole Reddit thread of how terribly the owner treats his employees, the disgusting way he handles the food.Regardless of price, I could never shop here again strictly from a moral standpoint.

Whoever owns this place should be absolutely ashamed of it and themselves. Went out of our way to go there today. First thing we see is bins half full of rotting watermelons then we go inside there is basically nothing on the shelves. Found some onions with mold on the stems. No meat in the coolers. So as we wait for some to be put out the staff keeps looking at me like what are you doing here. So finally just walked out. I'll stay with my local stores. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Not to mention it's dirty smells and there was blood in the coolers from yesterday. If you open at 8 be ready.

Have been shopping at the other Dutchies location for years. Wanted to see their new location. Still great prices, friendly staff. Freshest produce available.I guess its still quite new. Couldnt get chicken schnitzel until after noon. Was here at 1030am. Otherwise still one of my favourite places

Very valuable place for groceries but you need to cook them soon or they will go bad soon~ staff was really nice and they have tulips sold here from time to time~ oh they have very cheap berries basically all the time but be sure check the conditions of the berries or you would get a half-rotten box. Well picking out the best box is also a fun activity for me

Can confirm that Duchies does not pay their suppliers. We have been chasing payment since January. Services and product have been delivered according to industry standard and still Mike refuses to pay. Only communicates when we are left to review online. Mike please pay your invoice. you have the credit card link.

I miss the coffee ! I like the everything about the store compared to other stores in the KW area! I used to like Central meats for the smoked ham but it seems they have let the prices go higher on almost everything compared to other stores maybe because of the construction and insanity caused by light rail and bike lanes etc . that almost shut them down but even loyal customers will find an alternative and for me I like Dutchies and ALL there employees that have been very helpful and I can be miserable at times! LOL The sales they have are also very good prices and I have never had to complain about anything so all that is good ! Compared to what is out there in a similar business I would give them a 6 instead of a four !

This store is a total waste of time. Sometimes they have no meat at all. Split wings and full wings today 2.99 lb. Third time I have gone there and no wings. Today all sold out at 4pm. No chicken breast or chicken thighs. Ground beef on sale? Sold out by noon. The store was good pre covid, changed ownership and it is absolutely horrible and a waste of my time. I am so done and never to return. If you want goo meat at good prices and lots of stock go to Robert's boxed meats. 20 minute drive for me but so worth it.

Went in to purchase a brisket, price was 5.99 per pound. We saw a piece that was not covered and therefore the end was very dried out. We also wanted a little bit larger of a piece. We asked if we could get half of the whole brisket that was in the cooler, Prince said no you can have the one that is cut, he needed to keep some. I was not paying for meat that was dried out, and not sealed properly. I also could not belive his response. So we left with No brisket, and still need to purchase one. Meat seems tampered with. Maybe food coloring, fresh blood sponged back onto the brown meat?I wish I took a photo!
