Day & Ross Freight

This company can't seem to get their logistics right. Got a call today saying they are delivering my package. It never came, called the driver back and he said he dropped it off at my front door but never rang the bell. I have security cameras and they never came. Called again and he said, he had actually called me 3 times yesterday but I never answered so it was brought back to the warehouse. Checked call log and no calls. He then tells me to resolve this with customer care.

They keep on hiring employees and then ask them to not come after a month or so without giving any proper notice. Weird thing is one day their supervisor will appreciate your work and next day they will ask you to not come. Happened with my husband and many of his other friends. If you Email General manager or anyone you won’t get any response. Guys DONOT work for this company.

Expecting a large crate to be delivered. Based on their tracking I had to return from vacation for a day to receive it. It didn't arrive and I was called later in the day to hear it would be the next day.Despite us saying no less than 5 times in previous calls that *we don't have a fork lift* and they will need a truck with a rear lift, on delivery day they called again to ask if we have a fork lift. Then he had to call back.The guy was friendly and polite but this experience says to me that they have some serious business process issues. Great employees maybe but they are not equipped to be successful.As the delivery is a critical part of the customer journey, I strongly consider that any company consider this review of caution before choosing Day & Ross Freight to deliver to your customers.I just bumped my review from one store to three simply because the front lines delivery guys who came to my house were very positive and did an excellent job in getting the crate into my garage. If only these great employees had the processes to make them better support them! The delivery guys said they had nothing on file telling them that I didn't have a forklift.So I take off two stars because they're tracking system said it was coming yesterday and because I grew bored of telling them that we don't have a forklift. The delivery guys alone do deserve five stars. It's the rest of the team that let them down.

I struggle how to even write this review professionally.We have been shipping with Day and Ross for a number of years now and have had a number of small issues that have been resolved. A couple of months ago they lost a pallet of product. I'm not talking about one or two boxes but a large pallet. Apparently it must have fallen off the truck because no one in Canada recieved it at their warehouse. Unfortunately the product was not insured beyond their $2.00 per pound insurance so we got $340.00 for a $6000.00 order.I shipped another order from Calgary to Vancouver a few days ago and only one pallet made it to Vancouver and has been delivered. Yeah!! The second pallet has yet again disappeared. Not tremendous value except for the customers waiting for their product.Driver told me it was at the warehouse but they just had not been sorted yet. Today I called twice. First time they said they would get right back to me, which they did not and just now I was told it was never delivered to Surrey so they are looking in Calgary, but still no answers.I now have upset customers, no product and no idea how to recuperate my costs. Again, large pallet, not a small package. This company has been a low star rating for a long time but they have really outdone themselves lately. Unfortunately they are also the most cost effective carrier and for a small business that is important. If they keep losing shipments though, the low cost is not worth staying with them.

Sent a shipment with Day and Ross on April 21st. Was told it would take 5 days to deliver and it is now May 6th and it is still not delivered and no timeline for delivery is available.They are now saying they can not deliver the item as expected because it is too large but they knew the dimensions and weight prior to picking up the shipment.To make matters worse they contacted our customer directly and told him he was going to have to spend extra money to rent equipment to pick up the shipment or they would send it back. They made zero effort to contact us first and put all the onus of responsibility on our customer.When we contact them for an option they said they can do it now for an extra $1100. So please beware.... they will accept your shipment give you a price for completing the shipment then hold it hostage at their depot until you agree to pay their ransom to deliver it.I can get no explanation from anyone at Day and Ross other than we can't do it without charging you more money. No even an apology.Obviously will not use their service going forward.

The warehouse guys found and loaded my shipment quickly.Cheers

Ordered something from Burnaby to Bowen Island (a total of one hour drive, 30km) and we are now more than a month (30 DAYS) since they picked it up, and 2+ weeks post their own delivery estimate date and i still don't have my parcel. Again, this could have easily been delivered same day. It's going 30km!Every time I call them my confidence that I'll ever get my shipment drops. No sense of responsibility or customer service, just meh

I booked my shipment through Ship Canada and something went wrong. Day and Ross didn't service my area of Hope BC, so they subcontracted the pick up to someone else. After 4 days of waiting, it was never picked up and I was forced to rent a U-Haul and drop it off in Surrey at the depot myself.My shipment left from BC 4 days late, but actually made it to Nova Scotia 4 days early, go figure.My biggest complaint is that no one from Day and Ross communicated with Ship Canada what the issue was and how to resolve picking up my shipment in Hope.

I ordered a table and chairs from Rona on May 28. On June 9, Day and Ross phoned me to arrange delivery on the 11th. They said they were leaving the table and chairs outside of my apartment building. I told them that they would have to bring it up to my suite because there would be no way for me to bring it up myself. The woman told me that Rona had strict instructions to leave at curbside. She said that if I wanted it delivered to my door, it would cost extra and I would have to arrange it through Rona. I then phoned Rona and they said that this was not true. As we were speaking on the phone we looked at the tracking and saw that Day and Ross were returning the table to Rona . I never asked them to do this. I told the man at Rona to just leave it as it was because I didn’t want to deal with this courier. I didn’t trust that they wouldn’t just leave it outside on the sidewalk. The man at Rona told me that the table should be returned in 3 to 4 days. The tracking was scanned on June 13 and then nothing. I had to launch an investigation through Rona and it was only in early July that Day and Ross updated tracking to show that the table was delivered back to Rona on June 24. This of course delayed the refund for a table I never even laid eyes on. They made this entire experience awful and I will never order from Rona again because they use this courier and products go missing for long period of time.
