It looks like just another hole in the wall BUT it is a diamond in the rough! The service is amazing. Friendly, kind, helpful, and fast! I barely had time to breathe between dishes being served at my table. The food, oh man where do I begin. It was impeccable! Delicious being both sweet, and spicy. The items were all fresh tasting and come in the perfect bite-sized pieces.Another props to the staff. They did not acknowledge that my service dog was with me and did not make a fuss about her; which I have discovered is rare in downtown Toronto.I will definitely be back in warmer weather.Thank you for a very enjoyed meal.

My rate was 5 stars from 3 years ago. Now unfortunately the quality there is horrible. Japanese cuisine is know as an art, the rolls now are done by either a non professional or for someone very unhappy to be there

The food was good.. except for Teriyaki Chicken I liked everything. Chicken felt a little odd but other items on the menu for all you can eat was amazing. It's not expensive for the amount of food you can eat and enjoy. The place is very busy in the evenings. The service was good the atmosphere is busy and lively.

There used to be a Kyoto House in Whitby, which we loved but it closed down after the pandemic. We took a ride into the city a couple times to eat at this Kyoto in Toronto afyer learning there is some connection there and it was great. This time however - though the food was tasting good - I got some severe food poisoning (and yes I know it was here). I also had a chance to see in the kitchen when on my way to use the bathroom and I can say without a doubt if I had seen what I seen before I ordered the food we would have left right then. We won’t be back and so the hunt is on for another AYCE place.

Usually I go into great detail about what I eat but this time I cannot because I ate so much. The reviews I've seen from other people about the orders being fast were not a lie at all. When you order a hot food item, it comes in piping hot. The sushi comes very fast as well, the hand rolls are a bit smaller because they're making them on the fly.The hand rolls were rather large and wasn't something I was a fan of, personally. That doesn't make them bad at all.My favourite item was easily the hot pieces of teriyaki salmon. A critique I would say is that the tempura sauce was very light and didn't really add much flavor to anything.Outside of that, eat to your hearts content. This isn't a fancy place at all, this is just a place to order food and not overthink it.Just a warning that this place DOES NOT accept Visa, so make sure you have the right form of payment on hand.

**2.5 starsTo say the woman with the blonde balayage was an adequate server would be quite absurd. Not only was her manner abrupt but it was off-putting and not in good taste. I honestly feel a bit slighted after her rough and blunt demeanour. Let’s just say the dining experience isn’t meant for you to feel uncomfortable or obtrusive but that was unfortunately felt. The service from the other servers was adequate: it required much flagging down to submit an order, get a refill, or get the cheque. One of the patrons and I kept looking at each other because he kept trying to get their attention to no avail and I wanted to communicate that I understood and faced the same dilemma. In short, the service is not friendly— it’s utilitarian: they’ll do exactly what their job requires (when asked) without the added pleasantries or conversation. The sushi selection and variety is relatively limited but the dishes they do have are ok. It definitely lives up to its name of being an AYCE ‘sushi place’ as the menu consists 80% of it (rather than other Japanese entrees you might see at similar restaurants).Regarding the quality, it’s the type of sushi that you have to add wasabi, ginger, or soy sauce to because it’s lacking in freshness and you need something to offset the somewhat dull flavours. You can’t pay with tap of any kind so bring cash or an actual, tangible card (yeah… I forgot those were a thing too). It was just over $20 for AYCE weekday lunch.

I was incredibly surprised upon seeing the restaurant as its design resembled my high school cafeteria. However, despite its appearance, the food turned out to be delicious and the service was excellent. It offered an all-you-can-eat sushi option that was both affordable and satisfying. In fact, I even indulged in some desserts!
