Trained here for years with my father and enjoyed my time here. This dojo has probably the most affordable prices and best Senseis in the KW region.

The senseis here are terrific. They are patient and skilled in teaching. They treat each student as an individual and train accordingly. I highly recommend this Dojo!

Being apart of Tsuruoka Karate KW is one of my fondest childhood memories! As a kid and even into my teens, I enjoyed my time there. The teachers (senseis) were amazing instructors and everyone was like a big family. always there to support one another and encourage your growth. With their guidance, I was able to earn my levels and get my Brown belt before heading out of town for University. This club and its leadership has always done a phenomenal job of welcoming new students and making all students feel at home. If you are looking for a great place to learn new techniques, strengthen your current skill or find a great sports activity for your kids, this is the club you are looking for!

My daughter began her Shotokan Karate journey at age 5 in Calgary. As she turned 6 we moved to Kitchener, and as she insisted on continuing her training, we found Tsuruoka. It was one of the best connections we made. This has been the warmest and most inviting environment for her. She has been training at Tsuruoka for over 10 years now and has earned her Junior Black Belt. Sensei and Sempai have continued to nurture and encourage her growth, and she has benefited from opportunities to share her skills, assisting-teaching. She continues to be the drive for us to get her to classes, and she continually brings home wisdom and recommendations from all of these fantastic mentors.
