We visited Site 134 for three nights in mid September. The site itself was flat with a couple good spots to pitch our tent and park the car, but no great spot for a hammock. A water station two sites to the left to the left and restroom two sites to the right were conveniently close whole also far enough that people werent making noise right outside our tent. Situated at the top of a hill we did get fairly strong winds and cold temperatures overnight but came prepared! The campground has a few notable mentions itself! There is a pier that has a beautiful view of the Sleeping Giant particularly at sunset when the sun goes down behind the giant. Campsites on the water side ranging from 141 - 167 all enjoy the same view. There is also a public beach on the north side of the the campground which is the only spot to get reliable network connections. There's several picnic tables for use there aswell. The water was swimable our first night at camp, but the air temperature dropped to low single digits the follow days so we didn't attempt the waters again. The comfort station at the campground was the nicest I've ever been to at a provincial park. We even saw a pair of white tailed deer grazing behind it one afternoon.Wood and ice at park store was a little expensive coming out to just under $10 each. There wasn't much wood available around the campsite apart from a few recently fallen branches. A tree stump would have been nice as without it using our hatchet was a bit tricky to cut down some of the logs we got from the store. Transporting your own wood was also strictly forbidden due to the risks of invasive insects that live in dead logs. The firepit was also quite deep with the grill section being very high from the bottom. This made boiling water for coffee/granola a little slow our first morning but as we built up a layer of mostly burnt logs or got quicker in the successive meals.I'd gladly stay at this campsite again if in the Thunder Bay area! Next time I would also shell out for the more premium sites knowing that the views are definitely worth it!

The park itself is beautiful, and reasonably priced for their spots, front desk was very friendly. The lake was nice and the beach was fairly clean in regerds to garbage. However, some of the staff need some training in how they present customer service and authority together. As I was camping out there for the first time this year with family friends, we had several negative interaction with a specific ranger Warren Kennedy. He was complained about across many camp sites as he displayed an ignorant approach while speaking with the camps guests. Both interactions we had with him were confrontational, very unfriendly and unwelcoming. I would like to return to the park as it had a lot of other good quality aspects, however if this is how the staff treats their guests and delivers information with attitude and ignorance, I will not return nor recommend.

We stayed in lot 167 with private access to the beach. The views were breathtaking and I couldn’t have been happier with the entire campground. Comfort station facilities are very clean and well maintained, and the showers have hot water. Fresh water stations are abundant in the park, as well as trash and vault toilets.

Good amenities and fabulous place too camp with the family. All the staff were friendly and everything was kept nice and clean. Typical amenities you would expect from Ontario Parks.
