Osaka Restaurant

Staff is very nice, but the Chinese food is not very good. Watery sauce overflowing on dishes and mediocre taste. The restaurant is a little box shaped place with only a few tables. I am sure that it’s probably more for take out or delivery. Maybe the sushi is better, but I didn’t try it. The chef was very slow. But most importantly, the food was nowhere near good. People who recommended and said that their Chinese food is good, haven’t had any good Chinese food in their entire life, so they are not connoisseurs.

I had heard a lot of good things about the guy who owns the restaurant and the food. When I went in I saw how nicely he was treating his regulars. When it was my turn, I got the same warm service from them. Very nice and cozy ambience in the restaurant. Very clean. I will come back here again. Highly recommended.

Veeeery good food, super good service. The place is very clean and cool. The lady at the front is super sweet. And the owner is super nice and gives amazing prices

The service was outstanding. I have never felt as appreciated in any other restaurant in my life. Food was great as well! Osaka will definitely become one of my go-to restaurants in the west island.

Let's agree that Chinese food falls under two headings. The one we are most familiar with is the N American variety that evolved from the Chinese that opened restaurants in every dingy little town in Canada after there was no more work for them slaving to build our first national rail system. Ok, welcome chow mein and chop ....The second heading is Chinese food ....as actually enjoyed in modern China. Ahh the exotic tastes of Shanghai!Despite the misnomer 'Osaka' (there is a story here), there is no Japanese food served here. However, this tiny husband and wife team DOES serve Chinese food under both headings. From what I can tell they do a pretty good job on the N American variety.I entered hungry for something Asian but the sugary N American catagory is no longer my thing. I have been to China and my most fond memories of the place are related to culinary discovery. To my great delight, there were only Chinese folk at the tables, and they were putting down volumes of dishes, none of which I could name. Ahh the chance of culinary discovery reborn!To my great dismay, the owner gave me the railroad menu.....and he was slightly disbelieving my irrevocable request for the Chinese menu. He (wonderful guy named Sue) conceded to me a menu just like I would find in fabulous small eateries in Shanghai. Welcome to Shanghai! Everything written only in Chinese, but the pictures invite me to want to work my way through the entire menu. We had one bowl of spicy fish that was big enough for two or more. It was superb. Light, fresh, tasty, fish and veg in a fab broth. I can't wait to go back with my foodie friends.

Wonderful fresh Chinese food, an owner/cook who really wants to build long-term customer relationships, and really affordable prices. Really great place.

I love General Tao Chicken here ！ It's so tasty!!! Come and try those and you won't regret! Both Japanese and Chinese Cuisines are delicious!!!

We love this place. Not only is the food outstanding but this is run by the most pleasant man ever. He really treats you as one of the family everytime we come. You will always leave happy.
